For those of you who order from Forgeworld, you might want to see this. I just thought I would post this reply to my email I sent Forgeworld. I ordered a Stormsword and a Warhound Titan on August 22. I received the Stormsword within a 3-4 days (I live in Missouri). I have yet to receive the Titan, and this is what I got back from Forgeworld: Thanks for getting in touch – I’m sorry about the delay in your order. With the official announcement for Apocalyse, we have recently received a deluge of orders for all of our Titans (and most other items) and our casting team is currently working 7 days a week to catch up with demand. At present we are now waiting on the Turbo Laser component and we will send your order to you as soon as we receive this back into stock. Regards, Stuart McQuarrie Forge World Totally understandable, and I have always been happy with Forgeworld's products.

A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve is someone who, at one point in his/her life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America" for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it.

good for them. More orders = more money = cooler stuff to come I ordered some death korps recently and it took almost 2 weeks to get em. But the models were awesome so it was worth the wait

Interesting news. I was initially skeptical about Apoc's impact. I may yet have to eat my words...

Did you predict no impact or no *long-term* impact? I foresee "Apocalypse hangover" entering the gamer lexicon six months from now, as players stare at their pile of 15 Leman Russ tanks and wonder what they're going to do them now that no one's playing anymore...

I just recieved a Vulture gun ship that I ordered on 8-23-07. The websight suggests that you give them 28 days to get your order to you if ordering overseas. The model is awesome by the way. No air bubbles just flashing here and there that will need to be cut away and sanded. I have always liked the model and with Apocalypse I am hoping to be able to use it more often than I would playing standard Warhammer 40k. I admit that I was a little worried about the coolness factor waring off and leaving me with models I wouldn't be able to use. Honestly though I don't personally know anyone who is ordering the emperors fist tank regiment or 124 guants. You really don't need to buy 10 tanks in order to play Apocalypse. Most people I know are using it as an excuse to buy some extra Heavy Support choices or a Forge World model or two to beef up their existing forces to Apocalypse size, or combining two seperate armies. I was building an IG force and what I am doing is adding some heavy or super heavy choices to my current collection. I have added my old armorcast shadowsword / baneblade tank, the Vulture gunship, and soon I hope a new GW baneblade tank. The way I see it is Apocalypse just opens up more options. Will I ever be able to use the Super Heavies outside Apocalypse? No. The Vulture I will use as long as my opponent says "why not". I'm not a tournament player so the odds of this happening amongst friends is pretty good. I'm also not obsessed with winning so if my opponent shows up with 10 basilisks and two Titans or 200 guants and 5 DS Carnifexes, I'm not going to cry about it or refuse to play him. It is, after all, a game. There were maybe four people playing 40k at my local store on a regular basis and Apocalypse has started to spark more interest. We are starting a map based campaign at my local store that uses Kill Team, Combat Patrol, Cities of Death, standard 40k, BFG, Forge World and Apocalypse rules. No escalation battles, just decide with your opponent what size game you are playing and what rules you want to use. We have Thirteen players so far.

Apocalypse hangover is possible, if GW do not continually support the game. New datasheets, new scenarios, new models, etc. GW has proven that support, or the lack thereof, can either make or break the game. Take LOTR for example, many people view this game to be a waste of resources, but not the people who play LOTR. More and more people play LOTR than ever before, oddly enough it seems. Thats because GW didnt relegate it to "Make the game then leave it in the dust". They continually support it, so people feel its a safe bet to keep playing it because they know it wont become a "Specialist game". This is why 40K is having such problems lately. No FAQ support (Even though Gav Thorpe has been quoted as promising quicker FAQ's in the pipeline), no WD support other than advertising, etc. BFG seems to be the singular instance where this isnt happening, but interest isnt anywhere near what it should be for such a good game. Time will tell. But as much flak as I give GW, I havent been this excited to play 40K in awhile. its even gotten me off of my duff and made me actually *gasp* start building my armies again. Its given me something to look forward to. Kinda like preparing your army for a tournament. Its a visible goal that makes you want to play. I dont seem to be alone in this, and FW delaying orders because of demand is a good indicator of this. I am thankful to GW for getting me to start building the umpteen billions of dollars I have in models, if nothing else.

I would love to see how they run things at FW. I expect more from them. Even if I forget my dealings with them in the past, and I forget the cluster-eff that was them at GD. I pre-ordered the Forge World Reaver Titan on 4/29 (first day it was available). Charges were applied to me on 5/21. And on 6/17 they told me this; At this point in time we have stock of the main titan body and one of the weapon arms reserved for you and you are first in the queue to receive the next Gatling Blaster that is cast.
I'm sure they're working very hard over there. Too bad they don't have a better website. It would be great if I could just log into an account and track the build status of my order. Getting information from them is like pulling teeth, but I guess that's because they're working all the time and can't afford to check their email!

And so, due to rising costs of maintaining the Golden Throne, the Emperor's finest accountants spoke to the Demigurg. A deal was forged in blood and extensive paperwork for a sub-prime mortgage with a 5/1 ARM on the Imperial Palace. And lo, in the following years the housing market did tumble and the rate skyrocketed leaving the Emperor's coffers bare. A dark time has begun for the Imperium, the tithes can not keep up with the balloon payments and the Imperial Palace and its contents, including the Golden Throne, have fallen into foreclosure. With an impending auction on the horizon mankind holds its breath as it waits to see who will gain possession of the corpse-god and thus, the fate of humanity...... |

....and? I like to look through old post (being that I'm new) instead of starting new threads. Most people like that so noobs like me aren't re-starting a thread which already exists. I apologize if I offended your sense of time. ; )
