Subject: Transporting an Armored Company?

Anyone got any good ideas of what kind of container would be good to transport an Armored Company? I've got 7 LR, 3 Basilisks, 2 Chimeras, 9 Sentinels, and 1 Baneblade. Right now I'm carring most of it around in an old BattleMasters box top, and I'm looking for something that would hold all of that and offer a little more protection.

Okay, thanks. I'll have to keep that one in mind.
Any other alternatives?

Try the Division size. BTW, Sabol makes a tray just for baneblades. Good stuff.

if you haven't glued on the russ turrets, the 2 inch thick sabol foam fits them perfectly (i only have 1 russ and no other IG tanks, but I imagine chimera and hellhound chasis tanks will also fit in the 2 inch). you can then stack the turrets in a separate section and save a lot of room.

I don't have an armored company but I have a lot of tanks. the 2" ones will work but I go with the 3" trays just because that's what I had and it also helps if you model extra stuff onto the tanks that might make them a little higher. Like I have the forge world hellhounds and that big gas tank on the back makes it taller.
I can fit 3 chimera-based tanks (or rhinos) side by side in 1 tray, for russes they're a little wider so I get 2 in a tray with some room left over for their turrets.

I tend to transport my AC IG and WH all at the same time so you may not be wanting something this big but here's what I use:

Just speaking of transporting tanks I can fit 6 chimera or russ hulls usually but that's only if I custom cut foam. It turns out to be a ton cheaper than the sabol trays. Don't get me wrong though sabol stuff is pretty cool. That's why even when I cut my own I keep them within the dimensions of the sabol ones.

With your standard Sabol Army Transport, wooden clementine (It's a fruit like an orange, just smaller) crates fit nearly perfectly. Just line them with extra foam from the other trays and you have a poor man's vehicle tray. The crates are usually over 4" high too!

This is the kind of practical advice I would expect from Bob the hobo. Is this how you store your mini's on the train Bob?

Oh yes, definitely!
Another tip: You can pack whole squads into Emerald Nut Containers (Tall green containers). Just put some of the foam inserts from the trays around and between each model. It saves a lot of space. It works great for squads of ten. So far, I haven't had any damage to my models or infantry, but if you have a lot of delicate flags, ect. sticking out, I don't suggest this method, though.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made. |

@Cheese_Elemental, don't try that idea on a train. As Bob the Hobo will tell you, that foam will be stolen and inside a hobo's pillow faster than you can say "All aboard." Mattress foam, really?

sabol case for sure. I use them for both my mechanized armies.
for that many large vehicles.. you're going to need a division case.
the baneblade will probably eat up a 4"block by itself.
its hard to cram 2 land raiders into a 4" block, but you can share the space with other stuff
