Nice. Those battlewagons are very cool.

Thanks for the link Grim, these are nice pictures indeed!

They've sadly got some incorrect information posted for the Stormboyz:

As jump infantry, Stormboyz are able to cross the board and reach close combat very quickly. In the turn that you call the Waaagh! a unit of Stormboyz could travel as far as 24" - if you're lucky. The mere threat of that is enough to put most opponents on the back foot.

Which is misleading because:

A) Stormboyz don't benefit from the Waaagh!
B) Stormboyz can always move up to 24" (12" + D6" normal move then either a D6" run in the shooting phase or 6" charge in the Assault phase, but not both)

Hopefully they'll get this changed like they did with their incorrect reference to Daemons (in a Daemon army) being able to charge when they Deep Strike.

But anyway, what does this leave missing as far as official models out of the current Ork range?

  • Wierdboy model (as opposed to a Warphead)

  • Old Zogwort

  • Wazdakka

  • Warbuggies. . .well they do have a model but it's still the old tiny one (and frankly I'm pretty surprised they didn't redo this, actually, as now it really stands out with all the other vehicles redone in the proper 'orky' scale)

  • specific Flash Gitz models

  • Looted Wagon (more of a custom built model anyway)

  • But all-in-all the Ork range is actually fairly complete, which is a great thing!

  • I think that the Weirdboy will stay as a single model to use as a Weirdboy and a Warphead. It's unlikely we'll see two different ones. As you said, the Looted Wagon is unlikely to be a new kit. It'd be expensive to produce something in plastic that just contains bits of Rhino, Leman Russ and Land Raider covered in Orky glyphs and armour plates covered in rivets. Probably a good thing too, as we wouldn't want all Looted wagons to look the same.

As for the rest... Wave 3? Orktober '09? That's not a terrible idea...

If by 'complete' you mean 'not complete', then yes.

Meh. The more I see of the Battlewagon, the less I like it, and the painted Nobz look squinty and deformed.

I'm stoked. I haven't scoured the nob sprues yet, but I haven't seen that fist shaking nob since the first pics surfaced. I'm hoping those bits (namely the axe resting on his shoulder) made it in the final cut.

It's a hell of a lot of pieces, and they confirm the presence of a Painboy on the sprue, which is awesome.

Yes. I, too, prefer my orks to have wide, innocent eyes and clean, regular features.

Best shot yet of the gretchin.

The pistols will be excellent for necromunda and =][= pistols.
I'll be looking to pick a box up for that purpose.

    Sold, sold and...guess what? Sold.

Looks like I'll be double Greening it for a while (I play Orcs in Fantasy) and picking up 40k again.

All I need do now is find a suitable army list. Very impressed with the ones in the Codex, so perhaps pick one of those and tinker.

    YES!
    Finally.
I think anyone who pays attention to my posts realises this is a huge deal for me. I'm so happy. Just give me a new buggy, Wazzdakka and some Flash Gitz and I'm estatic.

Nobs look awesome, especially two blade chainaxe. Love it!
Grots look exactly like I hoped they would, loving the runtherd too. Battlewagon is made of awesomesauce. Really happy with it! Stormboyz are great, but I like the old models more. I'll be sprinkling a couple of boxes worth in for variety though.
My ork army will now have models spanning 4 editions of the game. Awwwwww!

The most amazing thing is that the three first posters' avatars are either smoking or drinking in a way that makes me think they're all on the same table at the same bar. No, I'm not drunk or drugged, I just woke up.

The Battlewagon seems a bit on the small side, but I love those nobs. The gretchin look their piece, too, but I wonder if it'll be 10 or 20 to a box.

The paint scheme also helps the orks look like they suffer from extreme myopia.

It's ten to a box (plus runtherd)but the boxes are priced very reasonably.

I do not want to see a wazdakka model. I'd like to see a conversion sprue that has bike parts, trukk parts and kopta parts and trakked parts, so I can do my own wazdakka conversion though.

    I don't think we'll ever get a wazzdakka model.
    But I want one!

Indeed. They are going down the 'building block' route with their Boxed Sets now, so you get the minimum required for each unit.

I have been over that preview picture and write up of the Nobs a couple times, and I DON'T see where they confirm a Painboy... I really want one so that was important... can you cite a reference H.B.M.C. please? I really want this to be true..

I see 2 "tabards" that might be aprons, and one pic has a lot of white armor.. but that is about it..

Edit: NOW I see that on the Product Page is the listing for the Painboy Upgrade.. it wasn't in the article linked, but on the catalog page..

Edit again: AND I see that on that Product Page they supply 40mm round bases for the Nobs.. so.. I am guessing that 40mm bases is legal for them.. which means I am ahead of the curve.. (I already use those for the nobs)

Gentlemen, you must understand that GW likes to maintain equilibrium.

For every awesome sculpt GW makes they have to write something slowed, thus the balance is kept.
