Holy crap... I haven't bought or painted a PP model in a while, but that sucker is bought and painted!

He looks great. I'd love to see more new skorne stuff though.. Makeda looks ok, but I wanna see big monsters!

But then, I guess it doesn't matter since I only play like once every 6 months :(

My only problem with PP is their in-house painters are just far too amazing. With GW's stuff, it usually looks like you could get close enough for government work on the paintjob (for most things), but PP? I've seen Golden Daemons that don't come close for just about everything they put out. Then when I do buy and paint their stuff, I feel inadequate. Seriously, their paint staff is amazingly talented.

Nice. Given his size and complexity, I'd say $45-$50.

Most of what seems to be a hat is back banner, the photo angle is not so good.

The epic thaggy on the other hand is really nice. I though the prime version was one of the ugliest warlocks, but this is screaming to be painted even though I wouldn't touch most of the Everblight range with a stick.

I think I need those wings for a DP in the worst kind of way.

The hat is big in the concept art, but as you can see the spiky bits are the back banner.

I wonder how they managed the construction part on the Messiah, one of their biggest problems in the past.

His sculpt is Epic. Epic Fail, but still Epic.

I do wonder why they did away with the Epic bases... Thaggy would be simply enormous, but I don't see the problem for figures like the other two posted here.

I actually think that's one of the better models. Shows what I know...

Thag is the best new epic they've released. Madrak's pose is off (looks like he's about to snap his own spine) and Doomie looks way better than the previous sculpt, but not exactly EPIC. Thag looks really nice. Love the way Rapture seems to have grown with him.
Everblight got a lot of nice new stuff so far- the troll stuff has been a wee bit uninspiring by comparison. Here's hoping for a dire troll wielding a railway sleeper as a club.

iirc, Thagrosh lost Rapture in the last Hordes book. It may be a new weapon, or he could have recovered it.

Chris Walton's sketches blatantly label it as Rapture.

Apparently Doug Seacat or someone explained that he had retrieved it.

The concept art has a description of the weapon as:
"Rapture"
Weapon is alive & growing. Sword is separating revealing muscle below. Spurs of new metal.

Rumors are that the first half of the Metamorphosis fluff will be eThag re-enacting "Dude, where's my car?!?".


As for the loss of epic bases. Apparently, due to costs of metal vs a desire to keep prices reasonable, the bases were scrapped after the sculpts were finished. They kept the figures as-is though, so they look a bit odd.

I doubt eThag would have had a base though. His concept art shows none.

I'm thinking of modding eKrueger like this, though I do hate it when the weapon over-hangs the base so much.

Thaggy looks a lot like undead dark elf. Too many spikes.

you can always downscale the size of the vacuum. with those thin arms, I doubt he's packing around a hoover deluxe or anything heavy duty like that.. perhaps one of those oreck superlight models..
