Blueshirt I was chatting to yesterday said £60.00, same as a Baneblade.

That thing has the same amount of plastic and general molding cost as a Baneblade? At that price they will simply fly off the shelves since their new Warboss Owners will think Stompas can just fly to their hands.

That looks much more orky unpainted. The differing textures on the paneling helps a lot.

It looks good, personally I'd lose the horns though.

Lighten up. This is most certainly news, especially since these are new pictures.

these are much better than the last pictures we got. I was dissappointed by them, but the kit looks much better in these. hats off to the good folk at BOLS

The horns really do kind've 'ruin' the head for me. I don't know why that is. I guess I've always seen a Stompa's head as being an upturned flower pot sitting on top of an upturned flower pot... not something with horns.

I'd mess with the armaments.

Im pretty sure it comes with the ability to not use the horns.

Personally I'd prefer big metal and crudely welded together horns over horns from big animals meself for something like that. Maybe a future upgrade sprue might pop up with just that for creating a Goff Stompa.

Oh I dunno. The horns might be a fairly large piece that sits inside the Stompa, creating the super-structure that holds the rest of the model together, but the only visable part are the horns that poke out the top.

Prolly gonna be a conversion methinks. But release is 2 months from now we may learn more.

I reckon that's a long way off. 2-3 years from the Stompa release and you'll see either an updated kit or some extra sprues to convert one. Think Land Raider followed by Redeemer and Crusader variants, or Plastic Baneblade soon to be supplemented with a variants kit.

I remember to read somewhere that it will habe both options, a normal Stompa and a Mekboy one. There is no big difference between those two, just some different weapons and a powerfield- generator, so those should fid some place on the sprues.

Well, here's to hoping for both options then.

My usual source for pre-release minis has gotten to 'fondle' the sprues a couple of weeks ago.

He thought it was more awesome than when the baneblade came out.

When he get a hold of the sprues full time I'll endeavour to post pics.

I'm looking at that picture trying to gauge which panels I'll have to snip off so I can insert the crotch cannon.

Stompas (being the smaller gargants) have never had the belly gun or crotch cannon, just the larger gargants and mega-gargants. That said, I think this design could have benefited from having a major design element like that to break up the relatively empty space of the front apron armor. There's nothing to stop someone from converting up a stompa like this to have a belly gun though, since the weapon fire arcs are pretty similar. Would look pretty cool too, I bet.

I think a few changes are in order for my own, like losing the horns, adding an upper arm connection to the gun-arm assembly, enlarging the shoulder guards, beefing up the choppa arm somehow, and making the engine bigger and still provide a visually viable way for this to transport the boyz it's supposed to be able to. A couple smaller details like chains across the front to hold onto trophies or smaller glyph plates would really help the detail and scale of this.

I do love this kit though. Can't want to get going on it.
