I dunno...

Cajun Squirrel!! I'm not kidding, I just saw it on the news, well they asked for original ideas and they sure as hell got 'em, not sure what you USA dudes make of this (do you have walkers over there?) but what do British fellows, at least, make of this?

I would like some chips in the flavor of a certain aquatic reptile that certain Dakkaites revere for some unfathomable reason. I've had squirrel before, it's edible but I wouldn't recommend it. Lots of small bones and not much meat.

Typical Couldn't be our tasty native red squirrel, it would have to be some inferior foreign version. It's clearly a socialist conspiracy.

.... I'll try it if I see it, never actually eaten squirrel but I've seen that Hugh fearnley whittingstall (sp?) guy cook and go on about squirrel.

I happen to know that the grey squirrel is nice with chips but the red tastes like , good news really

also, mr Whittingstall is mad, he ate testicles, I watched him do it

somebody needs to make habanero flavoured doritos equivalents. I love spicy chips, but everything doritos makes isn't hot enough. Sweet chili heat, however, i've found to be almost spicy enough.

Meh...the Fiery Habanero Doritos with ranch aren't half bad, even if they're not that hot.

I'll actually go out on a limb and say that I've had squirrel before, and it's really pretty good (better than chicken, at least). I don't know what the difference between "Cajun Squirrel" and just plain "Cajun" potato chips would be, so I don't really see the point.

Has anyone ever had Soy Sauce flavored pringles? Those things are awesome, but it's a real travesty that they're only commercially sold in Japan.

I prefer bear, but it's really greasy. The Turtle Pie people also hate me, mainly because I am their arch nemesis. I've never actually eaten turtle, and most likely never would, considering what they eat. Additionally (Is that better?!?) I would really like to get some of those soy sauce pringles.

There's a brand of chips here (maybe local, maybe not, I don't care I just buy) called Krunchers. They make jalapeno kettle chips that are spicier than any Dorito that I've ever had, and I love those things.

Also, when I read the topic I thought of Walker's shortbread and threw up a little in my mouth at the thought a cajun version

Until you try Soy Sauce Pringles.

They totally overthrow the reign of Salt & Vinegar, Beef & Onion, and Pickled Onion chips (What would that be considered, anyway? A Triarchy?).

And then they take Lays Loaded Baked Potato (Bacon, Sour Cream, Cheddar and Chives flavor) as their queen. Or king. Whatever floats your boat.

I used to live about 5 minutes from a Chip / crisp factory that did all the experimental flavour work. All of the "Falures" were sold in plastic bags in a hole in the wall office at cost (like .50 a pound) so being the poor family we had a lot of strange chips around the house all the time.

Some of the better ones were:

Dill Pickle
Maryland Blue Crab
sausage
bacon cheese burger
anything with cheese and sour cream you can dream of.

The worst that I can remember:

Mustard
Ketchup
Turkey stuffing
gravy
chocolate

If I'm reading the info right from the current 'whats new' mag for the store I work at here. Then there will actually be five other new flavours, the cajan one is just the first. They intend on setting up a voting website to see which of the six becomes the new official flavour over 100 days. Think it starts in Feb looking at this ad.

edit - ah no it starts 26th of Jan, mentions it on another page.

Salt and Vinegar Crisps make me sweat. A lot. I'm talking Priest in a Playground sweating here (apologies to any men of the cloth).

Perhaps I should see a Doctor. And not eat them when in the pub chatting up a fine young filly.

However, I wish to register my extreme frustration at the elusive Brannigans Roast Beef and Mustard crisps. I cannot find them anywhere. And as anyone who has tasted them can testify, that very much sucks.

Just eating the chocolate and chili flavour now so I thought I'd fulfill the dreams of Walkers' marketing department and post about it. They taste like a really weak bacon crisp, with a strong aftertaste of chili. Maybe the slightest hint of chocolate, but smoky bacon + chili is what they resemble most closely. You can taste the chocolate when it first hits your tongue, but then it gets overpowered by the natural crisp flavour. Overall 4/10, pretty crappy. I still have onion bhaji and builders breakfast to try from the multipack I got a sainsburys today.

I've just eaten a bag of the onion bhaji crisps. These actually tasted like onion bhaji in a crisp form. Kind of tastes like a very light pickled onion crisp with a slight spicy aftertaste. Overall not too bad but I wouldnt rush out to get them again. I'd rate them about 6/10. I'd make a comparison to space raiders for you reds8n but as we already discussed, I am a transform-a-snax kind of guy

Deviant.

Warning about the onion bhaji - it took about 2 hours before my hands stopped smelling of them, and multiple washes. Bad crisp if you are out to pick up women, great crisp if you want to torment your wife or girlfriend.

We sell em here at the store I work at, sell really well as well.

Although its been one advatage of being involved in the store orders, I've been able to get in all the old classics you don't see as often anymore. Poppets, Scampi Fries, Snaps and so on.

Still waiting for our new Walkers flavours, NISA wouldn't send them out before the 23rd so I've got to wait till next Wens to try them.

No, but I've seen a shot of the packet and it looks like its just a fancy name for a typical british fry up. Sasuage, eggs and bacon flavour. Will probably taste horrible.
