Personaly,I'd like to see a total overhaul on Chaos to un-do the evil that is the 5th ed CSM codex, bring back cult specific list, cultist, individule deamons, lesser deamons.

No, a race of Drunken Space Dwarf Bikers missed by very, very few people, as only a tiny proportion of people who were around in those days actually collected them.
A more accurate summary could have been 'Squats - A cool concept in Epic badly represented in 40k now genuinely missed by a small percentage of gamers, but with a massive following of Internet Posers who weren't there at the time, have likely never actually seen one of the models in the flesh, and are just jumping on the Squat Bandwagon in an effort to look cool on the Interwebs.'
I voted Necrons and Dark Eldar. Necrons need variety, and Dark Eldar need a lot of Nerdlove right now.

I agree with you about sqauts,my "missed by many" statement was an attempt to reflect how many people I see bringing up Sqauts recently, but, I don't really recall ever seeing anyone actully ever using them,at least not in the numbers I see being "nostolgic" about them.

Ups, I forgot that I could vote for more things....
Chaos. They need ONE book. Even if it's thrice as large as any other Codex, there should be ONE book for the entire Chaos army. Spikey Marines, Demons and especially Lost and the Damned.

I say not to the one book approach, but back a return for Lost And The Damned.
Why have three books? You can really concentrate on one area, and give Chaos genuine flavour. Then, should players wish to mix it up in friendlies, they can do so. Artistic License is such an important part of our hobby!

Poser or 40 something year old who has always enjoyed playing dwarfs no matter what game system. Seriously how can you have a game with elves and no dwarves. They don't have to be exactly as they were but some type of dwarf would be nice. I posted my concept of what would be fun for a new dwarf codex on the you get to write a codex thread.
As to my vote I haven't chosen specifically yet because I think most of the "evil" races need more personality. But then I might lean towards the Tau just in order to see something new. The Dark eldar are finally getting the much needed love so they're out of the list. Same for IG. So I'm choosing between the Space wolves, Blood Angels, Necrons, Tyranids, And Tau.

I most definatly wish to see LATD return to the chaos fold,as well as traitor guard, cultist & cult specific list.
Whether contained in ONE book or several,Chaos needs a drastic re-vamp.

OH arr! The talk of Squats kind of reminds me....
There is a new Imperial Guard Novel coming out from the Black Library http://www.blacklibrary.com/product.asp?prod=60100181079&type=Book which is set on Golgotha, and as the blurb mentions, is about the recapturing of Yarricks Wheels...Wheels which were lost in an old Epic Battlereport featuring a small IG force allied to a large Squat force.
Worth a read to see if it mentions the stunted abominations

I'll also vote for a complete overhaul of Chaos in the game. Why not something like this:
1) Codex: Chaos Renegades, a return to the traditional mishmash approach to Chaos. Armies would be based around ancient, powerful CSMs lording over traitors and cultists.
2) Codex: Ruinous Powers, covering the legions aligned to the big four. These would be more CSM-based armies, but include aligned daemons.
3) Codex: Daemonworlds, including full daemon armies but also the mutants and various gribblies that inhabit Daemonworlds. It'd also include an appendix with rules for playing games on Daemonworlds.
I still find it bizarre that we have the codices we do when neither CSMs nor Daemons are the true footsoldiers of Chaos in the 41st millenium.

Wow, how strange you should bring that one up MDK. In fact if memory serves it was issue 154, back in either late 92 or early 93. I remember it in particular because it was the very first issue of White Dwarf I ever bought and I remember reading that report several times over. It was between Jervis Johnson (Squat/Guard alliance) and Andy Chambers (Orks) It was the very reason I started Epic, ah memories.
I shall pick up that book when it comes out. It's nice to think that such a pivotal moment in my hobbyist past is now canon.
Anyway back on Topic, Squats are basically a relic of the early days of 40K when it was an almost literal movement of the fantasy universe to a sci-fi setting. Now Eldar work in this context as ancient, wise and arrogant races are a great part of sci-fi mythos (Vulcan's, Minbari, Vorlons etc) Dwarves however just don’t fit. Rose tinted glasses aside GW were right to dump them to focus on other races that fit in better with their vision for the 40K universe.
I think Dark Eldar assuming this is limited to 40K only, they have real potential and were the victims of a rush job, and of course my beloved Guard.
Of course as this in off topic and there is nothing to say this is 40K specific I'd like to see a proper Dogs of War list again. With some lovely new plastics to fill them out!

I don't have a problem with Squats. The idea of dwarvish humans from high-gravity worlds has a history in SF.
I think GW dumped them because they thought they were too silly, with the Scottish Bikers in Space theme and all.

Off-Topic)-Dwarves don't work in a sci-fi setting? A mechanically and technologically inclined race has no place but tree hugging elves do? Sounds like hippie liberal propaganda to me.
Like I said earlier, they wouldn't have to keep the scottish biker theme. What I proposed was an adeptitus mechanicus loyal version of the Adeptus astartes. A cloning attempt of the emperor by the adeptus mechanicus as a just in case the throne fails. For whatever reason it is interrupted(Enter the Inquisition) and only a small contaminated sample is retrieved. The Adeptus mechanicus have barely enough for 2 attempts and both almost work. You end up with emperor mimi-me's.
I'm currently looking for models to convert to this purpose. IMHO, The regular fantasy dwarves and old squat models are just to small and cartoonish. Probably a big part of why squats failed in the first place. Dwarves are supposed to have mass equal to if not greater than the average human, only on a shorter frame. GW makes their dwarves look like halflings and kids when they should be built like a nose high space marine. If anybody has an idea of a reasonbly priced source for a bunch of the old D&D style dwarf minatures and space marine shoulder pads I would appreciate it.
On-topic)- Why wasn't there an option for a new race?

@ reds8n- Thanks, I hadn't actually. As to my converted army purposes. The Cossak dwarf is adout stocky enough as is the heavy weapon commando. Most of the others are still a little light on the musculature and I was hoping for pieces in plate armour to save time on converting. Other than that I really like this site. I'm adding it to my favorites. BTW the Texan scrunt is hilarious. Seriously thanks red.

I think that maybe, if Squats weren't actually called Squats (Because you can't deny that this name is just silly), and had less of an ultra-rogue trader feel to them, they might be able to work. Probably more as an offshoot army like the Lost and the Damned more than their own full-on army. But as they stand, they are a ridiculous caricature of fantasy mixed in the 41st Millenium. They might've fit back in the light hearted Rogue Trader and Second Edition Days, but now, the universe is just altogether too dark to make sense of the inclusion of some Space Dwarves.
In a way, I'm glad they (somehow) got consumed completely by the Tyranids. They need at least an overhaul, if not a tombstone. Personally, if GW brought back Squats as they were, name and all, I'd probably have to go on a break from GW games for a while. Even if I came back, I would absolutely refuse to play them.
I think out of all of the existing races, Dark Eldar deserve the overhaul the most. Sure there's something wrong with all of the codeces, but when is there not going to be? Dark Eldar have the potential to be awesome, but a poor model range, and a Codex that hasn't been rewritten since 3rd Edition keep them from being played by nearly anyone.

The names I'm using for my two home growns are the Favored Sons for the loyalist chapter and The Emperors Runts for the balancing Chaos chapter.
I finally decided and its the Blood Angels. It's just unnatural to feel pity for a Space Marine chapter. They should be distinctive.
