K we know every starter set comes with 2 red sticks . How often do you see
yourself or others using it for everything else but measuring distance? ( Hit, poke , wack, whip , slap, prod )

Or see them go on a sword duel with it....

*edit i also noticed if you dont seperate the plastic between the 2 pieces,

it makes a good chopstick.

Absolutely. Perfect absolute precision doesn't matter that much, and a red whippy stick cut down to 6" is a lot less ungainly than a tape measure for doing your basic movement.

they make vicious weapons, if i were a guardsman and someone ran at me with red sticks I'd drop me gun and peg it quick!

I know the last red sticks I checked were not even .9 of an inch per marked inch. That's kind of embarrassing.

Working on someting you'll either love or hate. Hopefully to be revealed by November.

I used to chop them up into 8", 6", and 4" segments for figuring WHFB movement.

Some redshirts use them to keep the kiddies in line on beginner Sundays. They also slap the kids who borrow one for a game and return them bent.

I always thought they were in there so submissives could beat themselves. So they're for measuring? I was way off. LOL.

Cut them down to 6 inches. Then when the inevitable "no, you're not in assault range" arguement starts, put it down. If it touches both bases, you're in assault range. If it doesn't, you're not. Check if the 6-inch mark is actually 6 inches - with a ruler or tape measure.

I guess thats a good way to measure : )

The whole stick for the blue ones is supposed to be 45cm... which it is... but the 45cm mark is a cm away from the end.... weird?!

I do that too. I have 4", 6", 8", 12", and 18" lengths handy. I have dozens of them, so it's hard to mind cutting them up to be useful.

They tend to get held onto and waved around when one of us is pacing and ranting or brainstorming about something. Never actually is them in game unless it's to push Necromunda models around under big pieces of terrain or retrieve hard-to-reach D6's.

Forever alone

I smack people on the hand when I catch them trying to cheat. At the State championships, you can usually see at least a dozen people nursing sore hands and arses after a game of Apocalypse.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

We need to change the poll as I don't play 40k with them, but we do play stick fighting with them. So we need a Yes I play Warhammer with them, Yes I hit people with them, and a No I throw them away.

My brother received a dastardly whipping after I had read rules more thoroughly after some time of him in college. We were playing a little 1,000 point game and he used his movement phase as his first measure for distance to shoot. Thank god no models broke, he was a little ticked when I smacked his arm with it. "Can I see that? thanks......fwwwt!"
