Like the warmachine poll, I wanted to know how much exposure people have had to flames of war.

Once again, more can be learned about FoW at http://www.flamesofwar.com/ and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flames_of_war

If there are many FoW fans out there then please hop on over to our Flames of War forum and join in the discussion. Check out the flames of war dakka gallery for pictures too, and if you have any FoW photos then PLEASE upload them to the gallery!

I have been very intrested in flames of war and historical gaming and miniatures in general.Your(Legoburner's) late war(was it late war?)British tank company first got me intrested.I like their site alot as it offers nice useful hobby tips to a total FOW noob such as me.I have for the last three months wanted to start a Soviet infantry army but cash problems and them only really being available to me through Ebay have stopped me collecting them for the time being.

Other - Did not like the ruleset [did not play]

Nice miniatures, but a ruleset i'm not interested in. I've been greatly enjoying a lot of the more traditional low-to-medium complexity tactical board wargames that have been coming out over the past few years (Combat Commander, Conflict of Heroes, Panzer Grenadier to name a few)

With WW2 a solid, not overly burdensome ruleset is what I'm after rather than nice components [miniatures in this case.]

Flames of War is the game that got me into Historical Gaming. Too often with historical games you have to scramble to find a rules set that's decent to play, and then hunt down a miniatures line to play it with. Then you have to find gamers who are willing to play the rules set with you, and have figures that are comparable to the ones you use. Flames of War Mainstreamed historical gaming for me, and that aint a bad thing.

The popularity of Flames of War is what initially made me consider it.

I'd still like to get some 15mm WW2 at some point.

I really like the mechanics of this game and the scale of the battles for table-top. To me it's one of the better overall systems out today because there are no rules that defy common sense. Unlike many other games with those one, two or more WTF rules. That always kills me...

Currently running mid-war Afrika Korps and late-war US Airborne. So involved in other things lately that I've not been playing much.

I find the models rather uninspiring. They just don't excite me from a modeling/painting angle...

A quality 28mm WWII skirmish game I would be all over...

I'm interested in both playing and modeling these puppies. I'd even be content if I was only able to model them. Always cool to have historical military type stuff. I would probably collect US or Russian forces.

15mm is a different kettle of fish to 28mm modeling. Each base is a mini diorama, so it's more about how the figures are interacting with each other than how each individual figure looks.

This game seems like pure win. Too bad not many people play it in my area.

There is something very satisfying about painting scores of dudes in an afternoon. The History can also be rewarding which is why I think the FOW crowd is generally a bit older then your typical FLGS gamer. The difference between FOW and most other historicals is that the system was built to play tournament style.

If I ever finish my Guard army, I plan on stepping into FoW at my local store. By the time I do though, they will probably shift from Late War back to Mid-War, so I may wait until that shift actually occurs.

I love the game, but I can't win to save my life...

I've got a Japanese infantry company (proxied using Soviet rules), and they never fail to fail!

Same here, but add Dark Eldar and Sisters of Battle to that list... I'm down to about 13,000 points worth of models to paint

I Love historical 15mm minis. I have British and Spanish Napoleonics, Carthaginians, Romans and Celts. But I wasn't that impressed by Flames of War and their rules. I'm thinking of selling/trading off all of the ones I have gotten so far.

I'd like to get to know more about the rules and see it in action before I even start considering getting something else... 40k keeps me busy but if I could find something I could play in an hour from beginning to end with rules that can be summed up in 5 pages I'd really consider it.

Tired of reading new rulebooks... Just wanting to play.

I really do want to play this but the quality of the miniatures put me off. I enjoy all aspects of miniature wargaming and if just one part of it irks me then I can't be enthusiastic about it

I had a Finnish army, due to the overwhelming Russians we had when FoW first came out. Overall, wasn't enough interest for the location, so I dropped it.

It was fun, I like the WWII history and the models have been superb. Just hard to get more people interested.
