Stayed awake for about four days playing Unreal Tournament online before. I didn't eat or drink for the third or fourth day.

I am still not quite sure why I did it, but I guess it made sense at the time.

I used to stay awake for 48 hours fairly regularly when I was younger, and even when I had a regular sleeping pattern, I was rarely sleeping for more than 4-5 hours a night, often only about 3-4 hours (though that was mostly because I was reading books than playing games, though sometimes it was game related).

Now I can hardly make it to lunch time without almost falling asleep, so I guess it is catching up with me

I have stayed awake and alert for 72+. But that was during combat operations in Iraq.

Outside of being awake for the military, about 48ish with a group of buddies, playing video games and such.

72+. I had been working with a friend on self publishing a comic book. It was crunch time, but I also had to work, so no sleep for me!

The worst part is we spent all that time and lack of sleep and money...and the friend I asked to distribute it (it was at a hardcore show) just went up on the stage and dumped the box of books over the crowd. Most of them just got stomped on. I wasn't happy.

I start having mild hallucinations (seeing stuff in the corner of my eye, hearing things that aren't actually there) after about 30 hours or so. The most I think I've actually made it is about 40 hours, but I've found that I'm generally pretty worthless after about the first 20-24.

I stayed up for 4.5 days straight on house arrest when I was 15. Man! things got wierd fast. I beat metal gear sold on game cube on every difficulty to keep myself up.

It was in the holidays while I was at University and a friend and I decided to stay up for as long as we could, since we had nothing better to do and we'd heard things went all weird after a surprisingly short amount of time. We managed about 5 and a half days, through lots of coffee and shouting at each other whenever we looked dopey. We played so much playstation it was ridiculous. We then both finally succumbed to sleep, had about ten hours each and then were fine. In fact the next day I seem to remember we went to an allnighter at the union. I miss those days...

Had big problems sleeping as a kid....so often would go 2-3 days with no or VERY little sleep (like an hour). For a sleep deprivation project I max out at 4.5 days without sleep. only time I ever halucinated. don't want to repeat it....as I am older though, i tend to need less sleep, i often get 3-4 hours a night. then i crash every few weeks or so where i sleep from when i get home until i have to go to work.

Have made it 36 hours during major incidents at work but by that time the lack of sleep starts to make your brain work funny and I was making mistakes that otherwise would not have been made. I got the next shift in the door and went and slept for 12 hours.

Don't get me started.

I have done 24+ more than once and try to keep myself down to around five hours on a general basis but it is usually more like maybe 7/ 7.5 hours of sleep a day when you have to take into account excersize.

I mean you SHOULD sleep anyway, right? But if I can maximize my number of three hour sleeps in a week I am a pretty happy guy.

It is true you MAY AS WELL sleep because if you don't you are really going to stuff something up at some point. No sense staying awake if you are going to spend 45 minutes looking for your keys everyday. Or you lose your bag that has your whole life in it.

I've only managed to stay up from 7.00 one morning to 5.30 the next! (I'm hopeless at keeping my eyes open after 15 hours!)
If you can stay up longer than 72 hours, you must be some kinda zombie...

Man I forgot about when Final Fantasy 7 came out. Same friend, sat on his couch for DAYS playing that game (I must have smelled awful). I even called in to work.

I spent better than a year doing weekly 36hr+ Fridays during my younger, dumber years.

College @ 7am, work til 6pm-3am, 2nd job 4:30am-1:00pm- play hockey til dark, drive home, sleep.

My all-timer was right about 72 hours though. I think I slept close to 20hrs on the crash.

72+ playing Ioncross Freelancer. Best. Game. Ever.

Space Combat, pvp-based, group play reinforced (if you fly into the military combat areas alone, you will die), just a solid game all around.

ioncross is the mod for the game but even without it, it's still a good buy for $5 nowadays imho.

Single player kinda forces you to be a good guy but you can switch allegiances pretty easily in a single sitting.

I'll stop now lol i loved that game so much,

72+. My best friend and I, during a week's holiday from school just when we were starting high school, spent a whole week together at his house and managed 6 hours of sleep total in the 7 day stretch.

Yeah, things got weird. We also went through a couple of boxes of sugar cubes. Definitely not healthy, but makes for a good story.

Ive done 72+ a couple of times.

once was when i was in high school, counter strike beta 1.6 was in full swing, woke up on thursday, went to school, went to my friends house after school, played Unreal Tournament at his house all night long, went to school on friday, right after school went with him to a gaming "lock in" at a computer-cafe, lock in was for 24 hours, played counter-strike the entire time... went home and played some Team fortress before crashing at the computer, just after the 72 hour mark.

the next time was in college, and I wont go into detail with that one....

the last time was for work, had to work a triple shift, then went to a car meet for racing, after all that, got cleaned up, ingested more stimulants, then went to a party... started to hallucinate about halfway through the party so i got a ride home and crashed just before the 72 hour mark.
