Interesting calves. You may want to make them wider in all dimensions as they're intended to house half a company of Marines. Staggering the legs a little in a walking pose would make the structure a little more interesting visually. I can only suggest that for the top you use cathedral and administratum building kits with gun emplacements on the tops of those structures.

Have you decided on what you're going to use for the head?

Good start with it, although I have a few thoughts.

1: Don't make the legs wider, they look fine as they are.

2: You may want to use a material stronger than polystyrene for the hip joint.

Good luck with the rest of it.

I'd say 6ft is about twice as high as it should be, in my opinion. Still, the structure you have looks pretty good.

pretty good start. but i do also think that 6ft is by far too tall.
imho even 4ft would be completely enough.
further i think the hip is too wide as it is now. it might look better if the legs were closer to each other. do you think it might be possible to remove the rearsection of the towers and add some technical detail to the inside? or maybe only the upper half of it. this would allow you to add a "real" knee right in top of the towers. you could also shorten the upper leg a bit and rearrange it pointing at the hip. with these lower legs, this titan is going to have some huge potential. so please do not make it too big or too "bony" but maybe little smaller and bulkier.

About to eat your Avatar...

The fact that it is 6 feet tall, strikes me as a pretty big problem (pun intended ).

As others have said, half that height would be just fine, unfortunately that would be pretty complicated to do at this point.

For a display model, this should turn out awesome, but I seriously cannot imagine this actually being used in any games. You would have to play on the floor, or that thing is likely to fall over, hit the ceiling and the light, then break into a million pieces.

I hope that doesn't happen, and I look forward to seeing it finished.

While the size is indeed impressive, nothing else about it really gets me... it strikes me as too tall and thin.

I'm still thinking the legs are twice as long as they need to be and the turrets at the top are a little tall. If you made it more squat it would be more satisfying.

Saw some of the more developed photos in the gallery. I think the thighs don't really match the rest of what you've done. The thing is huge.

Looks nice and all, but it's still rediculously tall. Looks more like a 54mm titan.

It's nothing short if incredible. I mean you definitely made it. That's pretty cool. That thing looks like it could whipe out about 10k points in a turn. My Tyranids want to eat it.

Hmmm its very interesting... but after seeing it in person, something just seems really off about it and Im not sure what... It is a bit tall and the stance is just awkward... the glass knee things are odd too.

Hmm, it seems as if I was not the only one to have the titan foot=FoR annex idea, although I think mine went over a bit more tastefully. This teaches me that it is doable, and I am curious to know what you used for the chest, as it seems your design was more fleshed out in that area than in others. Styrofoam... Interesting.

All in all, good first post.

Well, I have to salute you for building an Emperor Titan, and it looks like you have put a great deal amount of time to detail it..

BUT (there are always buts, huh?)

A duo of warhounds could easily sneak up to it and push it over and run away laughing.. seriously, it looks like an oversized Tau Air Caste member with armour plates stuck to it.. Allthough it's a neat build..

The shin plates need to be a bit taller, and set out substantially wider. Imperator Titans have fortresses built around their shin mechanics in which Infantry can be carried. Those FoR pieces just don't cut it to me. They just look far too small, especially if you're planning on making an oversize Imperator. 6 Feet at your current stage of progress is going to put that thing with tiny, stubby legs and a HUGE upper body. Beef up the shins quite a bit more, and maybe increase the leg length overall. Or at least provide us with a shot of you standing next to the legs so we can get a proper basis for their height.

As well, the feet are FAR too small for that thing to be stable when it's done. As it stands, those tiny stompy-pads you've got on for feet are not going to be enough to hold the titan up when finished, and once it becomes too top heavy and unbalanced for those feet (Which would be very quickly), it's going to come crashing down and probably ruin all your hard work. You -need- to give beasts like the Imperator and Warlord a wide foot base.

The Legs - Those knee pieces? Turn them the other way. I hate to be so blunt and sound like I'm insulting you, but the way you've got the knees set right now, they look terrible. Looking at the image, there seems to be some extentions where the screws go in running along the sides. Turn those outward. They look almost like some sort of gear teeth, and would make your Titan look like it walked normally. Right now, those knees make me picture a crabwalking Titan which, while funny to imagine, probably isn't the level of GRIMDARK you're aiming for. Turning those Knee pieces will do wonders. Adding some armour platie housing, some wires, and some piping to the legs will do amazing things to make them "look" more beefed up. You'll probably want to use wider PVC pipe for them though if you plan on making this thing as big and heavy as I'm thinkning it'll be. A huge amount of weight is put on the hips and legs on these things, so they should be the strongest parts of the Titan.

Basically, you can still have a different design, but asthetics still play a huge part in what looks good and what doesn't. And there are some things that physics and gravity will always just say 'no' to. Huge torsos on short legs and small feet being one of them. Anyway, good luck on your project. I'll be following this.
