A Dreadnought is more or less a nearly dead person who still strolls on earth. And dead people mostly lie in a coffin.
So what would be more obvious, than a Dreadnought which was built round a coffin?!
I have already made several sketches in this direction. However, what would better fit than a strolling coffin with the vampires of the Space marine, the Blood Angels?! So what do you hold up to now of it?

And here the wip miniatur:

You should model a bunch of little tombstones on the base.
Maybe some guitar string tubes to connect the corpse with the exoskeleton, so he has an actually way of controlling it.

This would be great in a counts as BA, zombie/vampire army.

Excellent idea. Side shots?

Keep us posted!

I probably would of tried to fit the marine still in his armor in the coffin. I dunno Its an awesome concept and I will enjoy seeing where this will go.

This is good.... isn't it?

Yes, u´re right!

I will put 1 or more tombstones on the base-
But to your idea with the guitar strings for exoskeleton connection.
I already had similar ideas, but i don´t want to destroy the nice vampire body. I think without visible connections he looks clearer and more supernatural.
I would explain this simply in such a way that he was embedded consciously thus in the dreadnought, that one sees no connections or technical games, so that he looks even more inhuman and more dangerous. Connections and technical tools go in concealedly and invisibly for the viewer directly behind in his back advice. Thus he works for his opponents like an unreal and supernatural person.

Here some sideshots:

He needs no armament. And this makes him only more dangerous and more fearing.

O.k.the painting is going on. Nevertheless, I prefer the construction.
In this direction I have built one more Dreadnought.
Exclusively from paper and cardboard built.
The present painting is intended only for orientation.
At the moment the black priming dries.
This Dreadnought should show a death company Dreadnought in my gothic vampire Blood Angels army.
Particularly the coffin should stand out as a central element. As well as it is the case also with my advance sketches and drawings.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
o.k. the first paint (very WIP):
At the time, the dread looks terrible. it was prettier unpainted! argh!
I hope it will be better, if I ´ve end the projekt.
I think there is many, many work for me.
Here the dread with the frist and fast painting:

Great concept and execution but I have a quick question. When you said exclusively from paper, on what parts did you use it for? and how does it hold up after being primed?

Talk to me in design. Im a graphic designer!

The white parts are a normal writing paper. Besides, I used the tube technology. Simply roll up a sheet of paper and already it becomes really stable. The brownish parts are an easy cardboard. Cardboard of the backs of a painting block.
So that everything became even more stable, I have worked on it with a sort of varnish.
Importantly is present that the varnish is soaked up in the material, in this case paper and cardboard.
I used moreover a mixture of wooden glue and water. Then after the dry the cardboard and the paper is at least as stable as same-thick plastic.
Simply try out!
This also functions with hair spray. And, nevertheless, not dries quite water-indissolubly.

"Straight Fething Silver" Tanith first and only

I have a reputation, Modile, a reputation as a fair, honest man who treats his soldiers well and supports them in the face of darkness. Potentially, that reputation makes me soft. It seems I understand failure and forgive it. Some, like Kowle, believe me to be a weak commissar, not prepared to take the action my rank demands. Not prepared to enforce field discipline where I see it failing. I am an Imperial commissar. I will enflame the weak, support the wavering, guide the lost. I will be all things to all men who need me. But I will also punish without hesitation the weak, the incompetent, and the treasonous.
I am a Commissar. I am empowered to deliver justice wherever I see it lacking. I am empowered to punish cowardice. I am granted the gift of total authority to judge, in the name of the Emperor, on the field of combat.
— Colonel-Commissar Ibram Gaunt, prior to the field execution of his uncle General Aldo Dercius

I like them however I feel like some of them are losing the machine side of the look, they seem a little too nimble but still awesome job. Also great overall idea!

I appreciate the work you've put into these, but I'm not a big fan. Too cartoony. If I were you I would put some effort into bulking out the limbs a bit, and avoiding overly 'bubbly' designs overall.

The very roundish torso areas with the long, spindly limbs is very un-mechanicus, looks more scoobie-do villainy.

Sorry! remember, it's just my opinion, chuck it in the bin if it doesn't suit you

Wow, I like your drawing. Good work. Just so I present a DC-dread.

Today, I gave the dread a melta-gun and the stormbolter. And I put on parts like Terminator Armour on its legs to make it a little bit more masive.
