Alright, whats up everyone. LordofSteel here, this is going to be the thread where I post up pretty much everything I work on WH40k related.

I currently have a Necrons army as well as a Black Templars army. I have an Imperial Guard army in the works that will be DKK following regular IG codex rules, it will involve a few conversions. All of my armies are unfinished and will all get attention here and there, however my Necrons are going to have to wait for an update before I start buying and painting more. As far as scenery goes I love GW Imperial buildings, I have a realms of battle, and a homemade city landscape table (4x4). I probably wont show too much older stuff of mine, unless asked for. But for starters I will give you a preview of some of the work I do.

Currently I am working on two things.

First, a Chimera which I have converted for my DKK. I basically cut down the width of the side armor and decided for the track to be exposed. I did this for two reasons, first I found the standard Chimera far too bulky making it look more like a tank than a transport. Its more matched to the size of a Rhino now. Second, the exposed track made it much more DKK'ish in my opinion. Its easy to see that the Death Korps are somewhat based on a real world army from history, their uniform is similar in style to the German, French and Belgian soldiers of World War I. The exposed track seemed a bit more traditional to me. Also some of you might get the reference but the DKK also remind me of the Genii from Star Gate Atlantis.

The other project I'm working on is a Sanctum Imperialis. These things are like 40k Lego and are lots of fun to make. I might get creative with it, or I might replicate one of the suggestions, not 100% sure yet.

-Cheers, I'll keep you all posted.

Alright, not sure if anyone is following the Log yet but here is an update anyway. Spent all last night working on the Chimera and finished it, hope you guys like it.

The Sanctum Imperialis is now on my working table, I'll probably have an update tonight.

Love the work you've done on the painted figs. I especially like your chaplain and the death korps. Your converted tank is amazing...a chimera counts-as? Anyway the tracks are unique and look great, nice work.

It's great work. The name of the thread is a bit misleading, though. Honestly, I thought you would be working on Necron Terrain, but I see the delineation in the title now.

You've obviously got excellent painting skills. Although, I have to say: there is not really anything eye catching about the tank. Everything about it looks good, but it looks like it belongs in a large formation of tanks... do you have more tanks that you aren't showing us? `,:~)

I say, get creative with the terrain... hey, maybe even make some necron terrain ;~P

Oh wow! I just noticed the bullet hole on the wip pics. It hardly shows up on the painted model.

Hey, thanks for the comments guys.

A Chimera counts as a transport.

Yeah hehe, the title was a bit misleading so I changed it.
I don't have anymore tanks atm no, I will have a second Chimera and hopefully will be able to get another "M4 Sherman Medium Tank's Horizontal Volute Spring Suspension" kit. Honestly finding it was a sheer stroke of luck especially since it was 1/35 scale and I used most of the pieces it came with for the conversion. (Everything that was green in the original photo). If I could put it beside a regular chimera you would really see the difference, however I don't have one.
As for the terrain, well I didn't get too creative I made the one on the box cover just because I have wanted to make that exact one for a while. It is simple so it has excellent playability.

Necron terrain eh, I have a photo of a Necron Obelisk I made just under 2 years ago. Right now its in a current state of needing repairs from getting shot by an airsoft pistol repeatedly as well as a few bite marks. If you have to ask why, call it bad rolling for my necrons
.

Well, as far as my worktable goes here is the progress so far on my Sanctum. I went out to get some spray paint tonight so tomorrow I'm going to rough coat it and undercoat it then get onto the painting stage. I'll take better pictures when its completed.

-Cheers.

I love the Chimera - it looks like it has some texture on it - is that just from the airbrush or did you prime it with a textured spray?

Some great stuff on here, I'd love to see more of your Death Korps in particular.

Whats up, sorry I haven't posted in a while. I had a tournament recently and I was busy setting up a decent army list and making sure everything was painted. I only had to buy 2 Immortals which isn't very interesting and since I was also tight on time I didn't bother adding it to my log. Anyway I have been working on the Sanctum and I decided tonight to just make some extra rubble piles to go with it, or any other building really.

I made the rubble piles from an insulation foam base cut with a hot-wire cutter, a few pieces off the sprue of the Sanctum kit, and 3 different types of sand (well one was rocks). Very simple and quick, I didn't want to clutter them too much because I want my infantry to be able to stand on top of the piles in games. As you can see below my Sanctum only has its base color on, but still not a bad display.

Subscribed. I've already seen some of your work in the gallery, it's stunning. You are far beyond where I am with painting but we share at least an eye for conversion and terrain. Looking forward to seeing whatever else you decide to share.
