I didn't see this mentioned anywhere else so here goes; I emailed Mantic on sunday and happened to mention their supposed sci/fi range. The response was to checkout Mantic's website and Beasts of War at the weekend as they would be announcing something major.

GW must be gnashing their teeth...first they lose one of their better writers to Mantic (I also liked some of Allesio's older sculpts) and now they're losing a lot of their followers who like/love the armies GW discontinued. I would say it's a shame Mantic isn't following in PP's shoes with free rules and such when you buy a certain boxset...but Mantic's rules are already free, you get bonus points (towards free models) for every purchase you make, and the models are pretty cheap too. This is how you do it GW! Look at your successors and cringe

I'd love to see some generic "Space Elves" myself. But hell, I don't care, as long as the rules are solid, I'm in. In my desperation to find a game, I started playing MTG again (Given, playing with the EDH rules, but still)

No more GW for me.
