This is my first posting of my work to the internet so please be easy on me. I just finished this predator yestarday and wanted to get some feedback. This was my first attempt at painting/modeling melta damage. I heated up a metal clothes hanger on the grill and pressed it into the plastic to get the effect around the hole.

Wow... Pretty good. The wethering is fantastic and the Melta damage is a really nice touch. Haven't seen that one before.

Lovely work, really nice weathering and battle damage. I like the way you have steered away from painting it all green - the red helps break it up nicely.

Also, good photos too!

+1 to the melta damage. I have never seen anything like it -- really creative!

Very cool. I dig the glow on the melta damage. I might have made the red trim brighter though; the desaturated red really muddies up the look of the entire model and it loses something as a result. It's a shame since your weathering and highlights are otherwise very good.

as everyones already said, nice weapon damage, especially the melta holes, and really good weathering. The model looks really beaten up which I assume is the look you were going for.

Only crit I have is the mould lines on the twin-linked lascannon turret, they really stand out. But I know how much of a pain in the arse removing mould lines can be.

Love the colors. the battle damage is a big A++

Walk in the shadows and deliver the Emperor's justice into dark lairs of his enemys. Strike from the shadows and let them fear the very darkness they call home. Embrace the shadows for when all others would be driven mad we shall remain whole.

Agreed on the spiffy glowing melta damage. I also mostly agree with SRM about the red - I wouldn't want it much brighter, but a bit more saturation would better match the overall look. I may be wrong, though - the more I look at the pictures, the more I wonder if it's just being washed out by the lighting...

It looks great.
Just one thing that bug me, though; it looks a bit like it's not keeping together at the back.

Thanks for all the kind words, I had this on my board yestarday for the armies on parade contest and it helped me win at my store. Sadly I didnt take my camera to the store though. I will reset the board at my house and snap off some photos to post in another topic later today.
