I originally made these thinking they would be far quicker to paint than my normal IG guys, but they ended up taking longer, doh!
I'd just finshed Halo Reach and decided I wanted some Spartan-esque stormtroopers or vets. I settled on vets as I haven't got any yet. The colour scheme is tausept ochre with Ilyanden darksun highlights, and khaki & brown for the camo. All weapons are catachan green with gretchin green highlights. I try to keep to a very limited colour pallette for my figures as I like them this way. The gloss varnished visors don't really show up on the pics, but they're actually very shiny.

The bodies are standard cadian with slightly altered lasguns to make them autoguns, pig iron visored helmets and catachan backpacks, I think they work quite well!

Camo is so nicely done, just enough for the models.

The Autoguns look pretty awesome. What did you use for the scopes on them?

@Firecancer: I cut off the ends of the standard Cadian lasguns and drilled the barrels to make the autoguns, then attached the lasgun ends I had cut off as the scopes, simple as that!

and i like how you noted about the GL. you just know some one will say "GL suck, get a 3rd melta"!

Great looking head swaps and weapon modifications, a few simple changes make them look completely different to stock cadians.

What does the armored vehicle with the awesome gun count as?

@Warmastersolon: It's a standard chimera with some external stowage, an Old Crow turret and a 1/35 howitzer barrel. It counts as an autocannon chimera, or just the standard multilaser one if that's all I can get away with

These guys look boss, not gonna lie. I like the ODST-style helmets from Pig Iron, and they look good on those bodies. My only complaint is the lack of contrast with the backpacks, even though it's more realistic to have them be the same color for camouflage purposes. I'd probably have painted them a dark brown. Either way, nice converting, and really cool painting on these guys.

Not a fan of the "halo" helmets, but I can't find anything else to complain about as they are well painted and modelled.
