I never really liked these mini's much, but having got some and painted them I feel they do have a certain charm and look a lot better on 40mm bases. I like details like the bulging targeter eyes and the vicker's machine gun stylings. I didn't feel there was a lot I could do to them though, they are just metal bulks after all, so I got a little lazy and copied the scheme from WD218, and had a good read of it too

Thanks for looking

Actually I used to agree with you, but you managed to turn them into really nice minis!!

I don't know why, maybe it's the 40mm base (for some unknown reason?)...

Their heads are pretty cool too...

I like them, they really have more of an Iron Warriors feel to them than the current ones.

I still have the white dwarf from when these guys came out!

The Emperor extends His will to us when we destroy the wicked and impure to reconquer the galaxy in His name. The Emperor leads the galaxy to righteousness, and thus we must petition for His judgement on the wicked... for it is judgement without mercy..

Christ, they must have been done by the same guy who modelled the OOP Necron Immortals. I didn't fully read your post, just went straight to the images and I could have sworn you'd made some Obliterators from OOP Immortals!

Love them mate!

Looks great. The paintjob actually adds a lot of character to them. These would fit better into an iron warriors force then the current edition, so copying this paint scheme (and excecuting it perfectly if I might add) was a good choice. I actually like these better then the current ones with this paintjob. Thanks for sharing, it's always fun to see some oldskewl stuff floating around
