Not if you dont cheat. Im sure theres way harder ones out there, but that achi was the hardest for a long time

The ODST endure vidmaster achievement is next to impossible to get now that no one seems to ever play the game. It is the only achievement I need on it too...

Once got more than half way there and then one of the party decided that they didn't want to play any more and just got themselves killed over and over doing stupid stuff.

my friend had Bungie 'lose' their connection 3 times while only a few sets/rounds away

The Endure achievement on ODST, most of the vidmasters were a pain in the backside.

beat ninja gaiden sigma on maximium difficulty and all challenges

I've got it as well...
I also have the 6 hour video of us doing it...
The ghost bit was not forgiving...

Halo 3... despite how much I played it I still need a depressingly large number of achievements on it

I did the Dead Space 2 Hard Core Achievement. It wasn't too bad to be honest. You just gotta know where Necromorphs spawn from.

I can name a few achievements that are actually far harder.

If anyone remembers Perfect Dark Zero; it was a launch title for the 360. It was ok, but one of the achievements was really tough. You had to beat the Single Player on the hardest mode which I believe was called Dark Agent, and the game was incredibly hard on that difficulty level. One level had you crawling through a jungle and enemies could see you through the brush, but you couldn't see them. It was incredibly frustrating and took me a crap ton of tries to actually get.

Also I believe Chromehounds had achievements like "Be in the top 10 for this game type" or "Be in the top 10 overall" Like really!? How do you do that?

That is extremely hard to do especially if it is 2 shots and your dead.
Also collecting all the orbs in Crackdown 2 is really time consuming I have had it for a year and I still can't find them all.

Soul caliber 4, I forget what it was called, but you had to sit through the intro video,....

I've never seen a more boring intro video in my life......

I was reading somewhere that there's an achievement for FFXI on 360 that requires you to get a job to max level, which takes literally weeks upon weeks of gameplay time apparently and there's one for each job.

There's apparently another one for Mega Man 10 that has you complete the game without ever taking damage.
Complete a platformer.
Without ever being hit.
Go.

Vanquish has a few toughies as well, to bad they didn't put an achievement on completing God Hard mode.. Cause I did that.

Oddly PGA tour has currently one of the hardest if actually impossible achievements.

Which is hold the longest leading streak on the online multiplayer table, which current sits at something insane like 140ish weeks. I am assuming that achievement has been running on every PGA tour game that has turned up on xbox live since it launched for someone to even have managed that total.

takes 36 hours (approx) straight to complete, no saving no dieing

I Had perfect dark zero , it wasn't that bad . and Ghost recon advanced warrior has one which is be number one in the online leaderboards....

I cannot stand halo achievements , i got all the halo 3 ones THEN they brang out more i only need 2 now . I had all the halo reach ones THEN they brang out more >.<

Yeah.. that counts.

It depends on what you consider "hard." Some things are actually difficult (CoD:MW where you have to jump out of the plane), others are just time consuming (collecting all the flags in Assassin's Creed)

Either way:
Assuming the Chromehound servers are still up: the Chromehounds achievements for #1 overall contributor in the world over the course of a month.

Screw achievements. I've been trying to fully complete Raiden on the Atari Jaguar for about 7 years.
