Fully painted up a random dwarf mini that's been sitting on my desk for some time now.

He started off being a test piece for some skin tone/shading experimentation.
Now that the experiments are over he's graduated to "fully painted miniature". And a pretty decent one at that.
Who knows, he might even become a PC/NPC mini in one of our D&D games soon....

I'm hoping to make decent progress on my second SoB Rhino today! I'm also tidying up the start of my Warhammer Blog over on B+C and Substack so... exciting times!

Made three pieces of scatter terrain, some piles made from doggy bag cores, plastic card, and some wire.

I assembled the Arms Master with the gigantic hammer of the Orlock specialists kit or whatever you call it to use as an enemy specialist in my next Five Parsecs from Home Encounter.

I also almost finished two minis for my Inquisition Agents proxies.

Getting together with the board game group today to play NEW games.
Everyone has to bring at least 1 new (to the group. Not necessarily a new release).

Should be an interesting mix of stuff.

Painted up a bit ago, forgot to upload here, but painted up a Crusader Miniatures gladiator as a throwback to an old "Sunday Funday" event I attended aeons ago:

Finished up assembling the arms/guns/heads for 3 squads of Custodes Sagitarum Guard.

Finished painting those Inquisition Agents and the Orlock ganger with gigantic hammer. Also began setting up the table for my next Five Parsecs from Home Encounter. Using the Tenfold Dungeon Cyberpunk city set, but I'm not sure if it can work with how I want it set up.

Applying tufts to my 15mm Landsknecht bases and getting my next project set up.
Next is also 15mm, a generic European Feudal army that can do with a bit of sprucing up.

Maybe using my last day of summer break to finish up a handful of eldar characters!

Attaching the correct size bases to a variety of giant ape miniatures/toy figures to make a "counts as" Sons of Behemet Sigmar army.

Though the two that'll serve as Mega-Gargants will have to wait for tomorrow- I need 4 tiny screws to secure them to the bases.

Thinking of getting the Imperial Guard combat patrol and using the old style heroic scale heads on the infantry bodies.

From what I can tell from pictures / old posts the new style necks may make it difficult to get the heads to fit - has anyone tried this?

Apologies to anyone who likes them, but I really don't like the new style heads!

Finished painting my Leapers, and started working on all those expensive Dwarfs I bought

Cleaned up and glued to their bases my Imperial Dwarfs and Dragon's Company so far, and now working on Bugman's Cart! Also took some bitz out from another metal cart from a long forgotten project to make another Bugman's Cart. Just gonna fill it up with a couple barrels and find a drunken Dwarf if I can, and it will be good to go!

Had the game day with the kids today. Instead of playing a game, the kids painted minis. I struggled to find some minis I could give them to paint, but chose an old Terminator that I think I got from GW as a starter mini years ago which was already primed and zenithal highlighted. I grabbed my Armsmen sprues and one painted a couple of Duck soldier minis that I got for them about a year ago. I sat with them and assembled a couple of the Armsmen minis including the CAT (which they loved) It wasn't much fun, though, as I forgot my snippers and an exacto knife so had to clip the parts out of the sprue with blunt clippers from the youth group and clean it with a blunt Stanley knife. But the kids had fun, so much so, they want to paint minis next week.

I have not gone near a paint brush in almost 2 months. I have managed to organize my pile and put together a bunch of stuff for eventual painting. One the weather starts to get properly cold I can focus on finishing the refresh of my Empire army into a Proper Old World force.

For now however, just organizing my minis is all I got going

●I got the melta-cannon thingy for an Imperialis Reaver Titan about 1/3 finished last night.

●I also got all of my giant apes (pictured a few posts above) mounted to AoS Gargant bases.
Next up on that project is to add jungle terrain to each base.
I also need to find a weapon for the armored one. I'm thinking a Thors hammer assuming one exists in the right size.

edit: And tonight (8/21) saw the completion of the Melta-cannon thingy + the assembly of my Gyrfalcon Jetbike.
I must say that I am not impressed with the Gyrfalcon model in relation to the $$ GW wants for it. Definitely a candidate for the kids at the shop & thier 3d printers should I ever want any more of these....

Played two games of Sword Weirdo’s today.

Age of Sigmar - Built a Beast Skewer bolt thrower & two units of Man-Skewer boltboyz - to make that one Krule Boyz Regiment of Renown.

Because the other day in AoS my Gloomspite squared off against Khorne. My bow & spear wielding grots + a Hell of a lot of squigs managed to pull off a victory, but they got lucky as they were waaay outclassed.
Some heavier firepower is needed if I'm going to see off Bloodcrushers & Bloodthirsters again in the future....

I haven't updated here much as I've put the hobby aside in favour for working on my animated, Lovecraftian Horror tv show script In the Mists of Madness which is set during the Civil War. But today was the Kid's miniature gaming day and like last week they painted minis while I assembled them. This time I had better snippers and a exacto knife so it was a much less annoying time. The kids had a good time, so that was nice!

Finished building all my (metal) Dwarfs for now!

Now trying to focus on finishing my cardboard Lizardmen temple, one of the many, many, "in-progress" scenery piece lying around, would be nice to finish one

Color coding the bases for my Custodes jetbikes.

Since all the bikers, Caps or squad members, look the same, & I'm a long ways from getting them painted up, I need some way to tell them apart on the table.

So the captains will get gold rimmed bases, and the squads will each have thier own color.

Painting up some Ogres for Heroquest, fair few still to go but they are quite characterful models

Built the 1st of 3 5man DW squads for an Imperial Agents list.
Well, 4/5 anyways. #5 is awaiting a bitz orders arrival.

Finished going through my 22nd Campaign Turn and setting up the next encounter for my Five Parsecs from Home campaign.

I painted ONE Legions Imperialis Assault Marine before Tiny Blockade woke up.

More time walking up and down the stairs than paint to mini!

Since Monday I worked on my first Star of Clan mechs for Alpha Strike - my entire Clan collection has colors blocked in, so I created a 250 point list for use tonite (Striker Star with a single stand of Elementals) and worked to get them closer to completion.

I got sophisticated with the colors of the Elementals' jump-pack plumes, then hit them and the 5 mechs with a wash. I then selected and applied a bunch of dark brown tufts at the rear of the Elementals' base to give the impression of plants that had been burned during the jump to their present location while applying the standard tufts at the front of the base to show them in the same environment as the rest of the force, then applied the standard tufts to the mechs.

Final highlights and cleanup will occur this weekend before sealing.

I ran out of cardboard tiles for my Lizardmen temple (gonna need to eat more cereals!), so that project is on hold for now.

But in the meantime I bought and received the last metal Dwarfs from the latest made to order and am building them slowly, as well as 3D printing some Gyrocopters from Highlands Miniatures (very cool models!). Got 3 of them so far (1 balloon and 2 propellers) and gonna print a bomber next!

I accidentally knocked my Fine Cast Lelith and broke her knife a while back and couldn't find it, so I finally clipped off the knife off the sprue (as I gave her a spear instead of duel knives), glued it and painted it with some air brush primer. I also set up the table for my next Five Parsecs from Home Encounter. Then I finally forced myself to do some mini painting for the 1st time in ages. Decided to test out the Pro Acryl paints I bought a while back and liking them so far. They're thinner than I thought when I put the first onto my wet pallet but they cover very nicely, even the while onto black primer. I can see why so many Hobby YouTubers recommend them so highly.

Pondering about what to do for the next months challenge thread, looking at a gladiator tank (spacemarines) to be bashed into an Ork vehicle.. or perhaps two beasts of nurgle, I mean it depends on what the theme is ofcourse but ok.

Secondly, still got to do 10 elven heads (doing 5 at a time) and 20 elven bows until my 20 sisters of the watch are finished ughhhhhhh (never buy 20 sisters of the watch people, you will regret it)
