Subject: Any recommendations for job searches?

Hello, I need to find a job/internship over the summer, and as a highschool student, I can find very little that doesn't require a 4 year or 2 year college diploma. Can anyone point me in the right direction for an internship/ job in Northeast ohio related to CAD? Keep in mind I dont have any formal training in the field.
Thanks

I'd check with your school's guidance counselor, but I know that summer jobs in fields like CAD were tough to come by in the 90s, and would probably be nearly impossible now.
Did you even take CAD courses in high school? If not, then you're behind everybody that has.

I'm guessing Computer Aided Drafting/Design.
There aren't a lot of internships at the high school level of Coronary Artery Disease.

If you don't even have the foundation classes in CAD, isn't it kind of a stretch to try to use a company's resources to get that?

You could get a job at Bob Evans making some Chicken And Dumplings.
Wait...is that not that CAD you meant?
Seriously though, if you don't have any training, it might be unreasonble to expect that you're going to be able to find a job in that field, or even an internship in that field.

If you are just looking for summer work, and have living arrangements (family, etc) then maybe you should look into volunteer work.

Well I am already proficient in blender, enough to make a reasonably well done mini at 28 mm in under 6 hours. I already had someone show some interest in hiring me at a per master basis, but as that hasn't come to fruition yet, I want to look into my options.

got a portfolio of work? proof to back up said portfolio?
And are you actually looking at Industrial CAD or digital sculpting?
Doesnt a lot of industrial CAD work rely on data input rather than manipulating pixels?

Autodesk proficiency is kind of a biggie too.

Auto cad is a two year program. And that's just to get hired. But if you want to work without pay and are planning to go to school. Find somebody that's looking for that.

Based on his reply to me I think he's not actually looking at actual cad for drafting/machining/architecture but rather digital sculpting?
Like others have asked, do you have some sort of portfolio or whatnot?

Did some CAD in highschool. Wouldn't recommend it. Boring as all hell.
If he's into digital sculpting, in my limited experience, CAD is about the furthest thing from it.
Coming out of highschool, I wouldn't expect a hope in hell of getting an internship, paid or not (although I'm no fan of the idea of unpaid internships, or unpaid work in general). You'll need a year or two in a discipline relevant to your work first. Also, from my experience, a lot of summer internship programs are based around university break schedules, which are different from your high school schedule, so you're already going to be a month behind anyway.
Your best bet would just be to get a normal summer job. If you're strong, you could probably get decent work landscaping or something.
Alternatively, if you live in an upper-middle class or higher neighbourhood, you could do what I did prior to my first year, and go door to door doing people's lawns/gardening (I use the term 'gardening' loosely, pretty much just watering plants and making sure nothing dies). In a lot of households, either because of going on vacation, or simply not wanting to do it, they're willing to pay a pretty decent amount for what amounts to not a whole lot of work.
