Thanks! I'm off on my summer holidays so no updates till August but I did find one nice thing.

The whole mess comes apart and stores nicely. The 2x2 walls I think were better than the 3x3 for stability and storage, in case anyone is thinking of trying this.

Still traveling but I did pick up one model.

The Star Trek TOS Galileo shuttle. NOT A GOOD MODEL to build, especially when you don't have all your tools. Finicky with poorly written instructions and some really odd choices. There's a lot of transparent parts, but no interior for them (there is another version but the original did not have an interior).

But it is the original Shoebox with Rockets On It shuttle and it is big, 12"x6" or larger.

Once I'm home I will greeble the heck out of and see how it goes. It should fit in well with the rest of the wasteland spaceport.

Seriously great find. Can't wait for the end of your holiday and back to building.

I remember that kit! A pain in the tuckus then, sorry to hear that it is still a pain the tuckus now.

Depending on the assortment of greebles available, I wonder if inverting it and adding some sort of landing stand or gear has any possibilities?

Rock on!

The kit actually comes with landing gear which I left off because they look both stupid and very fragile. So I'll give it that.

The plan is just to add fuel tanks, field repairs, odd apparatuses, and just make it look like a piece of junk that's been flying way past its expected service limit.

Which is pretty apt for this kit.

Now if they would just bring back the Runabout...

OK, I think I may have enough Lightyear trucks.

For now.

(Actually I think I have 3 or 4 more around somewhere)

First time I took out my brushes in over a year (granted they were in transit for a few months) it was fun. Still more to do of course, always.

A long gestating and hopefully quick to finish project.

I got a set of 9 nesting hexagon trays to turn into 9 nesting hexagon buildings.

Greebles primarily from the Maelstrom's Edge terrain spures but with some from Proxie miniatures and Wat Corp Designs.

They still nest with the greebles but I had to make 2 stacks, one gets A, C, E, G the other B, D, F, H if that makes sense.

Hopefully 2 or 3 shots of spray paint and some details will make them presentable.

Love those nesting buildings. Looks like some of them could be stacked for multi level structures.

The monsoons have subsided for now so I could do some priming.

The Hexagons are looking good, should just need some dry brushing and details.

The smallest hexes are a bit small to pass as buildings but work as utility sheds on the roof of the others.

I still have two more, trying to make one into a landing pad, then we'll see if I have anything interesting for the last and biggest.

The Galileo and the Rebel Moon Gunship are also looking good. I have to emphasize how big the Galileo is, it could carry 20-30 troops and an APC with some work. It does need a lot of TLC and greebling though.

Nice, I did a bunch of nesting octagon buildings years ago. I still have them and I had similar issues as well.
As soon as I added things to the walls I couldn't nest them and ended up putting them into two different stacks.

Assembled the last two Hexagons tonight.

First we get a bunker with some ominous looking silos on the roof.

Then a landing pad, a clever conversion done by removing one panel and turning the Hexagon right side up. Or upside down. Either way.

2 sports cars turned flying cars parked there.

Even the largest hex is a bit small for most ships, but it'll work for smaller shuttles and fighters.

Ooo Octogons, those are 33% more sci fi than mere hexagons and 100% more sci fi than squares!

These hexs had some clearance and I might have gotten away with it if I used thinner bits, but they're looking decent and 2 stacks is still easy to store.

Lovely use of MEdge sprue bits, I've been playing with these to jazz up Shatterpoint bases.

Low content post today but the Hexagons are looking good after 2 coats of primer and two colors.

Some details, posters, maybe some more dry brushing and they are done.

Honestly I think nesting terrain is a real gap in the market, we're all tight on storage space and transport space so 8 buildings that take up the space of 2 (or 1) is worth doing.

I think describing that as low content is a bit ridiculous! Excellent stuff. Love the colour.
