He has apparently gotten into trouble over the N-word, and appropriating black culture.

I don't really care too much about that. All I hear is a young Gene Simmons rapping about my army.

White and Purple, baby!

(methinks the N-word thing was a manufactured crisis to alert people like me, and through me you, that Tom Hanks son is a rapper)

white and purple, white and purple, white and purple, white and purple...

(better than Kanye West anyway, but I'm no hip-hop guy)

Seriously, anyone who plays my Emperor's Children army in my house will be hearing this gak. Get in the ring, mofracka!

I listened to about 2 minutes of it and I didn't hear a 40k reference. Is he really rapping about the Emperor's Children?

White and purple, white and purple.

Really I have no effing idea what he's rapping about....frat parties or some stupid gak. I like the beat, and I like the..

White and purple, white and purple.

Perfect song for annoying and intimidating my opponents as they set their armies up in my game room (we love to play psych games against eachother, and it's all in in good fun...at least til its not)

He's definitely rapping about marijuana.

As I've been able to decipher the lyrics, I think this kid has a potentially serious substance abuse problem, and may be even one of those creepy date-rape guys...

Oh well...

White and purple, white and purple, white and purple...

Actually he said it was ok if he said because he is black, which is a different issue. Truncating stories and re-purposing them is pretty much OT S.O.P. though so it isn't surprising that a white guy saying he should be considered black because he has black friends and likes hip hop would become "people are mad because he uses a certain word".

I'm marginally disappointed that we're 11 posts into this thread and none of the 'boomers and Gen X'ers that populate this forum have blanket-condemned hip-hop as being trash yet.

Come on guys, don't let me down.

I'm a gen xer and I like hip hop...

Six mistakes mankind keeps making century after century: Believing that personal gain is made by crushing others; Worrying about things that cannot be changed or corrected; Insisting that a thing is impossible because we cannot accomplish it; Refusing to set aside trivial preferences; Neglecting development and refinement of the mind; Attempting to compel others to believe and live as we do

Ageism!

I'm a Gen X-er, and I'm the one who posted the damn song!

(kids these days....with their hip-hop, Sweet Frog, and Obama fashion shows...I tell ya!)

What's a Sweet Frog?

I remember getting chocolate frog sweets when I was a kid but I'm assuming it now means some sort of sex act.

It's a "pile on your favorite candy" frozen yogurt shop the kiddos (and my wife) like these days. Apparently, the generation beneath has not been introduced to ice cream at this moment in time. My wife is just watching calories.

In the midwest, or at least Indiana, we have a place like that called Orange Leaf not Sweet Frog.

Think the only white individuals who can get away with saying the "November" word numerous times on the big screen would be.....

Brooks related that John Wayne was offered a cameo role. After reading the script Wayne declined, fearing the dialogue was "too dirty" for his family image, but told Brooks that he "would be first in line to see the film".[13]
