Here's a big picture of what comes in one standard Maelstrom's Edge $90 / £60 box set:

and a slightly raised angle:

The above does not picture the terrain which is buildable with the full plastic terrain sprue in each battle for zycanthus box set, so there's even more than shown.

If you'd like to get your hands a copy as quickly as possible, then head over to https://www.maelstromsedge.com, sign up, and then once you are signed up and logged in, go to the pledge manager. From there, you can pre-order anything at a discounted rate from the final retail, and get in on the first wave of shipping alongside the kickstarter in either December or January depending on any customs delays we might suffer as the last container load of plastic makes its way across the ocean.

Thanks for your interest!

Well, like I say about Warhammer Age of Sigmar, I love the models, but I don't really want to get into another game right now, especially if I can't find anyone to play against. Personally I like the Epirians more than the Karists, although both sets of models are cool.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/1/23, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~15000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Adeptus Custodes: ~1900 | Imperial Knights: ~2000 | Sisters of Battle: ~3500 | Leagues of Votann: ~1200 | Tyranids: ~2600 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000

Well the difference is AoS is terrible. I use my Deadzone models for this game and like it a lot

That's easily fixed. I mounted my minnows on regular 28mm bases, by just drilling a hole in the middle for the flight stem peg.

(These are just clear versions of the regular MEdge bases... would work just as well with the normal black ones, or with any other bases you care to use instead...)

They were test pieces that SAG had made up during the design process... not sure if they have any plans to actually sell them, although I certainly hope they do so I can get more of them

Those are wicked. Would love for them to be something they sell.

Peace.

Agreed. Clear bases would be preferable to black ones. Not a bad idea to sell them as optional items, at least.

Even though you were not a kickstarter backer you can still order the box set directly and have it before the release.

Peace.

I based my dark eldar on clear acrylic bases and they look great and no need to base saves time!

I would also buy clear ME bases if they were a option.

Panic...

The clear bases there were an experiment to see if they were viable. They have a few problems that stop them being suitable for mass market:
1. The grip ring inside the base makes the whole base have a visible line around the rim that is unavoidable.
2. The EDM/spark eroded surface on the top creates a frosted rather than clear effect.
3. The plastic we had available was just a sample of what was left from another run with another company. Ordering in the right plastic in the right volume would make the bases cost prohibitive as an in-box option. We'd need to try about 4 or 5 different types to get it as close to perfect as possible.
4. We did not have the capability to try these bases out with our larger bases (as the tool did not exist at the time we tried these).

It is certainly not something we are ruling out though, and we continue to explore it as a goal, as it is nice not having to base, and nice to have the model match whatever battlefield they are put on. Not going to happen in the first half of 2016 though I'm afraid!

To be honest, I actually prefer this to the clear acrylic bases I've seen. It's more tolerant of scratches, for one thing, but it also 'works' better for a gaming base. Clear acrylic bases look like they're trying to be unobtrusive but fail at it... these are less obtrusive than painted bases, while still being an easily visible. defined base... which is important for games that rely on the base to define the model's footprint.

If that makes any sense...
