Subject: Starting Brotherhood, and I have a few question...

So after a bit of a hiatus from Tabletop Wargaming, I am starting to consolidating my bretonnian Knights I got in a trade to make an army. Here is some notes on it:
1. It is an all cavalry force, with some Pegasus knights and a couple heroes. Two can be the leader/banner holder while there is one spell caster.
2. All the models are considered to be 'Knights of the Realm', but there are still some unbuilt to make some options for the two-handed weapon options.
One of the major problems is I have no ranged support, and it seems it is going to be hard to get that since GW got rid of their Bretonnian line. So with this, I have a few questions:
+What miniatures line would be good to mix in well with the Bretonnian line and not have too many differences? Looking to fill out roles for Villein Spearmen to give me a tarpit unit or two and some bowmen for ranged support. As well, I am thinking of having some foot knights as an potential option. I took a look at the Basilean line from Mantic, but only the Paladins kind of work for the Foot Knights and their Men-at-arms seem a little too clean for my taste.
+Is there any articles or tacticas for Brotherhood to understand the army a bit more and kind of understand the army?
Thanks ahead of time!

There's probably a lot of choices out there for bowmen. I've heard good things about Perry Miniatures war of the roses guys. Both in terms of quality, and in terms of fitting in with the style of Brets.

Took a look at them...and I think the men-at-arms type will work well. $35 for 40 minis seems like a good deal, especially since it is from Perry/Warlord.

Fireforge has some great infantry that works well together with your existing Bretonnian minis. Roughly similar prices to Perrys but slightly more expensive. (still fantastic deals compared to GW)
Men at arms for your spearmen

Up o half can be assembled as crossbowmen, which works perfectly with the stats for brotherhood bowmen. Reload, and Piercing (1), just like crossbows. Perrys sell separate stakes you can add to represent their Phalanx rule, Or you can just carve some of your own.

Fireforge has some more heavily armored infantry as well that are good fit for Order of the Brotherhood on foot
Teutonic order:

I have them, but completely different scale (but the models are very beautiful). How I built the mounted sargents I though they would have a missile infantry option to screen as chaff, so either I might sell them or rebuild them.

They are smaller than more 'heroic proportioned' 28mm models, but not smaller than Perry miniatures I believe, so I assumed you were ok with that.
They do scale suprisingly well with GW men at arms (even the newer ones) so I don't think it's a problem unless the models are mixed in the same unit, as difference in hand size for example might be jarring.
Fireforge compared to Perry:
http://moitereisbuntewelt.blogspot.se/2012/12/a-review-on-fireforge-games-new-foot.html
It's mostly the knights where the GW ones look massive compared to historical minis (the 5th edition bretonnian knights were a fair bit slighter)
There's a thread on the mantic forum that has a lot of miniature tips:

Ah okay. No, that should work since Fireforge is relatively close without the heroic-sized hands. Have a couple mount sargeants as I said before, but I though I need to fix it since I thought Brotherhood had a range cavalry option. I was reluctant at first since it would seem jarring to people looking at it in first inspection.
In a tournament setting, the person running it would not be bothered if they were Crossbow rather than bows themselves since the Villein Bowman have similar rules then?

Holy crap, the Mantic forum is working!
Anyway, Reaper has some Bones figures in the same heroic scale as GW, and the Anhurian bowmen or Anhurian spearmen shoukd look right.

I can't imagine he would.
Since many of the mantic lists doesn't have even a single official model; it's neccesary, and expected, that people use all kinds of models to represent their armies. Mantic actively encourage tournament orgs to be accommodating to people bringing non-mantic products. (Hopefully it will be many a year, if ever, before they start wandering down the BS-road that so many a company have once they think they're big enough to get away with it).
Since brotherhood bowmen have the exact same stats on their shooting (reload and Piercing (1)) as units of crossbowmen in a Kingdoms of men or Basilean list, it's arguably a better representation to have crossbowmen rather than bowmen models to represent brotherhood archers.

Well, that makes it easier for me since getting Brettonian archers are going to be a lot more expensive online. Hence a relatively good alternative is good.
Now, is there any articles on Brotherhood tactics? I looked up the 1D4chan article, but there are gaps in some of the choices/entries in the lists.
