Transfer Sheets, worth the hassle?
Love the way they make things look.
Too much of a pain.
Avoid them so you can play other legions convincingly.

I've avoided them for like a decade, but now i've got some transfers I love em.

I prefer sculpted insignia, but transfers are better than bare shoulder pads.

Depends. I've been using sculpted pads on my Salamanders, but I've been going with bare pads on my Death Guard for thematic reasons (when we say "underdecorated" we mean "underdecorated").

I would say it depends a lot on the specific legion you are building. My experience with my Night Lords tacticals is that the color scheme looks very 1-dimensional without the transfers or sculpted insignia, you basically just have your dark blue, highlights, gun colors and metal highlights on shoulders and maybe some red/other color in eyes. It just looks like having blue and some metal trim. Bringing in the transfers gives you brighter white and red which really strikes out.

I do prefer sculpted insignia though, looks much better and it's easy to add nice weathering effects to these. Adding weathering is much more difficult with transfers.

Transfers look great, are very easy to use, and are very economical.

I prefer flat symbols to sculpted ones. The only problem is getting them to lie flat on a curved surface.

Love them. FW transfers are extremely high quality and very easy to use.

Even their older ones are fine. I hand paint fancy stuff, but anything but the simplest designs get incredibly boring after a few, and the molded options are just too expensive for anything more than some accents.

Love them. FW's transfers are some of the best I've ever used. Have them on my Word Bearers and Space Wolves and got some for my Custodes too. Just waiting on Xana when I get back into my Mechanicum.

I love them for tanks and suck but not for shoulder pads on marines, always been a hassle ever since I started Blood Angels in 3rd.

“Victory is not an abstract concept, it is the equation that sits at the heart of strategy. Victory is the will to expend lives and munitions in attack, overmatching the defenders’reserves of manpower and ordnance. Microsol and Microset will serve you well. Also, always trim them as close as you can and be patient. Took me a while to get the hang of shaping them post-Microsol onto a rounded pad, but it can be done!

I prefer sculpted symbols. Tried to use transfers for my orks once, wasn't happy with the result. So no transfers for my legioners.

I'm just used to paint the symbols myself. I got into 40k with my Exorcists who have no transfers available so when I came to armies who actually had them I thought it just looks better and more unique if I just go ahead and paint them anyway.

And that's exactly what I will do if I can start painting my SoH

Playing mostly Necromunda and Battletech, Malifaux is awesome too!

Love em, once you figure out how to do them effectively it turns them into something great.
I even make my Own Transfers now. But I also use sculpted pads aswell, it honestly just depends.
