It's just a repackaging of the old.

At least we can get Celestine (and her geminae) on her own now, and for those who have no taste and like Blanchian artwork, Veridyan is now for sale. The site is kinda stupid and labels Celestine a Space Marine ("Space-Marine-Celestine-The-Living-Saint-2018"), which shows that this is nothing more than a zero-effort repackaging.

https://www.games-workshop.com/en-US/The-Living-Saint-Detachment-2018

It costs the same as getting everything separate (Celestine and geminae, 55; Canoness Veridyan, 25; Command squad, 55; Immolator, 40; 2 BSS boxes, 160; Dominion squad, 55; 10 seraphim, 110, total 500), so unless you want to get everything in the pack, there's no reason to get it. You save nothing by getting it instead of just ordering what you want separately.

Why would someone make or indeed watch a five minute video about another zero savings bundle from GW? I really hate the trend of making long videos about stuff that could be summed up in one sentence and a picture.

Yeah that 500 buck, no-savings pack isn't even the real news here. If you want to celebrate anything, be happy that Celestine+Geminae are available to buy without having to get the Triuumvirate pack, and I guess also Veridyan if you really want it.

Waffling on Youtube is easier than typing out an article. Gotta get those clicks!

Nevermind about the clicks, there is a Patreon.

Yay, Sisters we could buy for the last twenty years! The novelty of it all!

It's the same sad bundle as always. Not much to be said about that. More importantly: I'm far less impressed with Celestine's individual price compared to the Triumvirate box. Not that it's a big surprise, but I have a feeling people aren't going to form long lines to buy the kit, which will only prove that plastic Sisters don't sell and GW has the perfect excuse not to release, well, you know what. Am I being too paranoid here? I don't think so, but you never know.

I could answer that, but I'm far more tempted to make a five minute video explaining it to you.

It's not big saving of time but you can't seriously claim it takes equal time adding that box as contents separately? That would be pretty big lie.

I'm not sure why you're so down on Veridyan. After the Saint, we need at least one mortal Sister to channel the magic Faith powers.

We'll find out soon enough eh.

See, I'd love to believe this is GW trying to use Celestine to clear out stock of the metals to prep for an upcoming plastic release, but lets be real - they're going to use the sales of this direct-only no-saving bundle of mostly twenty year old metals as a metric to see if people want new Sisters, because of course they are.

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?
I have a blog now, evidently. Featuring the Alternative Mordheim Model Megalist.

Can't be too careful about time. Time is the predator who stalks you all your life.

(Sorry. It's the name Veridian that forced the reference.)

But if time is money, how much moneytime would you save by ordering for 15% off? How much time is $75 worth, and does it take you that long to assemble an order?

Because I prefer even the normal sisters aesthetics over John Blanche's awful aesthetics that GW rejected decades ago. I have nothing against Veridyan's backstory or in-game rules. It's the model itself, and the artwork it was inspired by, that I dislike.

Oh my god, those prices! Why would anyone in their right mind buy 20 years old models for 500$ !?!
You're better off buying triumvirate boxes. The prices on those seperate minies aren't that sexy.

You're also not getting any discount for doing so, so might as well just pick the boxes you want most rather than go with what GW slopped together in to one kit.

Looks like GW just blew up any ideas of you know what this summer. Last time Sisters got new models (if only one resin and 3 plastic) they pulled everything, putting a patrol force up on the website of our beloved metal bolter girls to me at least implies we can expect them to be around awhile longer. (No surprise to me.)

A ton of armies and a terrain habit...

NO savings? screw that.

To add: This makes me sad... this shows they are not working towards new models. Why sell a small army for 75% markup if they are going to release anything new?

If you squint at it just right, it might suggest the Sisters are taking a spot alongside the rest of the factions, complete with a named character who isn't bound to a bundle, a battleforce, and a little bit of hype. That doesn't NOT say "codex coming at some point." I know, I know, it's the tenacious-yet-tenuous hope of a long-suffering Sisters player...

Yeah, you're not the only one thinking that way. At $55 for just Celestine I can't see any reason not to say "Screw it" and buy the Triumvirate box anyway. If you just want Celestine and the Inquisitor then you could sell off Cawl and you would be doing way better: more-so if you can get the Triumvirate at a discount on top of that.

Most people will probably do it that way, if they haven't already bought the Triumvirate box by now, and yeah, I do think it will provide GW with a new set of data to "prove" that plastic Sisters aren't going to sell, because the individual kit sales won't look impressive and they can always just say that Cawl is what sold the Triumvirate box (even if they don't really know that for certain). And when you look at that bundle with no savings, and see just what little $500 actually gets you compared to literally any other faction, it just looks like GW is deliberately trying to ensure that Sisters don't sell at this point.

Either support the army or get rid of it, honestly. Doesn't make any fething sense to keep them around in this state of limbo like they have been, other than to feth with people for their own personal amusement. The way they're acting it's like they're afraid of Squatting them because they'll get tons of backlash for it, but they simultaneously really, really want to and seem to believe that no one likes or plays the army anyway, but if that were true there wouldn't be any backlash from it, would there? At the end of the day "new" GW isn't much different from the old and seems to have no idea what the hell its customers actually want, and seems to be completely incapable of finding that out for some reason.

They're too scared to take risks, and they don't know for certain whatever they end up doing with them will be the right course, so they're just gonna do...fething nothing, I guess.

$840 in Australia. Oh yeah, this is goig to sell /sarcasm.

How about we make space marines all metal and sell them at sister prices and similar stupid squad weapon loadouts.
Guarantee in this scenario sisters would outsell marines.

Something similar to what I am thinking. After I heard that Celestine solo price was going to be 55 I ended up buying the Triumvirate box. Much better and even if I am not collecting Ad Mech Cawl still remains a beautiful model that will be a blast to assemble and paint.

I always find these no saving bundles to be a little fishy and con artist like (really not helping the new gw). They make it seem like they are doing you a big favour without enforcing you're not saving any money. I wonder how many people have bought these bundles without doing the maths and thinking theynwere getting a sort of starter box from gw.

Well, this is a bit of a kick in the head, now isn't it? I mean, when I said I wanted new Sisters releases, I was hoping things would be a bit less cynical than this. As someone said above, when this awful set inevitably fails to sell, GW will just use it as an excuse to sweep Sisters back underneath the carpet and ignore them for another 15 years.

Also, John Blanche's artwork is cheesy, dated, bereft of technical skill, and ridiculously overindulgent. I love it, I love Veridyan's original artwork, I love the aesthetic he created for the 40k setting, and I love Veridyan's model. If we got more models like that (not just limited to the Sisters range, even), I'd be in heaven.

Seems like an odd stance... If they've already decided they aren't going to release anything new, hence wanting an excuse to not do it, why would they intentionally release a bad set and not just... Not release new sets? They don't NEED an excuse if that's their plan.

To me it just looks like they want to sell some old stock, no more no less.
