Does this look the part, or does it seem out of sorts?

Spoiler:

Supposed to approximate one of these:

Thought about putting some kind of actual crosshair in there but couldn't come up with anything that looked good at the time. Perhaps some jewelry wire or something...

Looks off to me I'm afraid.
It's a bit too chunky and also a very recognisable AM piece.
Back to the drawing board imo.

The ork Dakka jet has an anti-air sight for the grot gunner, which is unused in several of the variants of the kit.

You'll have to pry them out of the cold dead claws of any Mek worth his salt.

They're also kind of small looking - especially the Boyz one.

I'm in the slow process of rebuilding bitz so the radio one was the only thing I could draw on at the time; not quite sure what else would work. Not a terribly hard-pressing issue so something else may turn up eventually.

Could you fit the boyz one inside the radio bit? I think the circle is about the right size but without anything in the middle it looks a bit weird.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

That's a possibility. Next step: How to acquire those bitz

How's about photo etch?

EDIT: On second thought, photo etch might look nice but it's probably more fiddly and delicate than you want to deal with on a wargaming model. Better for display models.

No, Skink, you might be on to something. Find one of those that will fit onto the current piece easily enough, and glue it into place.

Those look nice, but might be too large I think.

They have a variety of diameters in that pack, and I looked up their site, they also have sights in 1/48 and 1/72 so there should most certainly be one that would fit.

A fine drillbit and some wire might suffice. I think if you just put a few wires, one from either side to make a horizon and one from the top, you could get the point of what you are trying to do across.
