Hi all,

Just rebroadcasting a Kickstarter for STL files to 3d print 28mm scale Spaceships and related gear for Sci-fi purposes.
Starship IV Chimera KS

I backed a previous KS by 2nd Dynasty and the files were of high quality and easy to print. While the ships are a little high tech and not nearly gothic enough for 40k; I find that they look great with other hi-tech sci-fi minis.

As nice as that ship is, it lacks ambition for a printable ship. It looks like an MDF terrain company’s futuristic subway car. This looks like the ship the captain takes to get to his real ship.

But maybe I’m just jealous since I don’t have a 3D printer.

I rather like it as a nice civilian cargo ship. A more realistic Millennium Falcon

This is awesome :O Not really keen on another kickstarter, but its something i would like to get my hands on at some point.

Could always ask the creator to do a gothic upgrade as an unlockable upgrade

I got in on one of the earlier KS as the shuttle looked sufficiently 40k for me. Haven't taken the printing plunge yet though.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Given the scale of 40k ships something like this will always be filling the drop ship, shuttle role anyways.

Hrm.

It's a box.

A nice one but still... a box

Well since I don't have a 3d printer of my own it's a pass anyway.

How much would it cost to print one of the escape pods and a turret?

Looks realistically efficient to me. Not like modern container ships are marvels.of aesthetics.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

Now that we're down to the last week, and a few more of the stretch goals have unlocked - the "box" has a few more optional components to make it quite a bit more customizable.
