Seems like we have a thread of this for all the other games so thought we should do one for Legion as well.

My photography is, as ever shockingly poor but here is my CIS horde to date (including all the unpainted stuff).

Unfortunately, this is my 'army' so far! Just finished the first set of B1 Droids. Have to say a really nice little kit I enjoyed making them, there is a fair amount of posability if you swap the arms/legs around. Super easy to paint too, I used contrast paint skeleton horde brown over a grey seer undercoat. Drybrush of a bone cream colour and job done!

I split the starter set with a friend but didn't get any of the cards/rules and so have no idea if my squad is 'legal' in terms of armaments. I made one each of the 'missile launcher' and 'rifle' weapon plus the leader, is this correct?

Pacific, yeah that is correct. A B1 unit consists of 5x B1 and a unit leader, you can then add one extra mini (B1 or specialist) and one heavy weapon.
Dont use the cards for list building as the points changed, would recommend - https://tabletopadmiral.com/ instead.

Its like seeing my own B1 unit, minus the grime and chipping i did. (allmoust same basing style too, small world)
Did them about 2 weeks ago in the same core method you did exepct i used wraith bone primer. If your remove the drying time it took me prolly less then 2 hours to do all 9 models so it is one of the fastest core units i have done for any army game so far.


A B1 unit is just 6 roids with E5 blasters, the last 3 models are optional unit upgrades, but yea, you got the right models.

Haha yes, FrozenDwarf think yours are like that extra step in the instruction to move beyond 'tabletop ready'. They look great! Like you say the speed thing is amazing, I can totally see the benefits now of Contrast paints if you're painting up a large number of stuff. It has made a mass combat army a possibility, and these days I wouldn't have done it otherwise.

Found a way to paint the cursed White whitout too mutch of a hazzle, so should be able to replicate it 2-3 times whenever the dealers gets more minis in storage.

I use primarily the Contrast range of paints for this game system.

Been crawling at a snail's pace with getting my army built, but recently got the lightsaber blades on both my Vader minis replaced with brass rod.

With the end of Vader's lightsaber hilt being angled, and how small the size difference between the hilt and blade is... I am glad I didn't mess it up haha.

Qurious, why did you want to put a brass rod there?

Because I wanted the lightsaber "blade" to be straight. I honestly don't mind the soft plastic, but thin pieces like the ends of lightsabers are very bendy, and annoying to keep perfectly straight.

The harder plastic models lile Dooku I wouldn't bother doing this with, as the weapon tends to stay nice and straight.

Good idea with the brass rod man, I may mimic that.

My Death Troopers recently completed:

Nice DT, my brother tends to run two units in every game and I hate those things with a passion.
Got a bunch more of my stuff done and I whittle down the unpainted pool.







Got a pair of STAPs, Bane, Mando, a printed T series and a pair of AATs left and then I have painted my whole army, until September... Though I have barely started on my Shadow Collective/Crimson Dawn army.

It wasn't THAT long ago where I was asking here about 'what is this star wars legion thing like anyway...'

Yup, it sits nicly in between skirmish and army, and it aint as "troublesome" as GW mainstream is.

Managed to finish my 2nd stormtroop squad, so coming along nicly in a Slow pace.

Nice work Compel, is your AAT Hairy or Air brushed? I made an awful mess of mine and need to strip it and start again (and paint the second).

It was my first airbrushing attempt in about 6 years. Overall it went pretty well, but I haven't nailed down the where the colours meet, I'd probably want to revisit it one day and fix that.

It turned out well though, considering I painted it over the course of like 2 evenings.

Yeah it looks good mate! What is next in the que?

I'm thinking of starting work on Dooku (after all, it was his birthday).

Then, possibly, Droid Commando's or B2 Battle droids, I haven't decided yet.

Maybe I'll fit another B1 squad in between them too. Though I've also got a Security Droid to work on as well.
