Hello again!

During this week I posted the WIP (http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/0/382271.page#3070844) of my new work, 'Lux in arcana'.

This scene was inspired by the W40K gothic battleships. I decided to represent a corridor of these cathedrals, like a gothic style chapel, with its sculpted walls, vaults and statues. I love the mix between the metal and the stone. W40K 4ever!!!

A lonely space terminator... is an alien near? WTF? Questions that you must answer if you want to understand the scene, haha!

Be happy!

The paint job is absolutely ace, as is the idea and atmosphere of the piece. Well done!

However I do think the 2 wall sections look strangely warped. The top part looks like it's part of a cupola which is a nice touch, but I don't like how the 2 bottom wall parts are aligned.

Very nice work, the surroundings are very well done and the window is a nice touch. Not quite sure why a terminator moving through the ruins would have webs attached from his gun to the floor though?

I like it, the cobwebs really add to the atmosphere rather than the usual weathering of the walls that most stop at.

I love the diorama but the terminator looks out of place. Hes painted every bit as well, but he looks less detailed than his surroundings.

Look again. While it certainly appears that way in some photos, it's purely a trick of the angle. There are no webs on the termie.

Thanks a lot for your words!
You're always very polite!!!

In some pictures the perspective do strange things with the cobwebs and the terminator, sorry!
I made the cobwebs with glue. The name of that glue is Imedio, and here, in Spain this glue is very cheap.
Maybe in your countries will be a similar glue.
I can`t help you anymore, sorry!

That is one really nice showcase. The scenery is just as impresive as the model, and the model is absolutly incredible nice work.

When I finished this work, I wasn't very happy with the final result. The cobwebs weren't very realistic... What can I use?

Halloween was close in time, and I went to one shop to buy some of diferents cobwebs effects. Only one brings to me the real effect that i was looking for. It's very easy to apply (it's like cottom) but I must try and investigate with it in other works. I promise, I'll work with this material.

You can see the results in next pictures, but photograph this cobwebs is a punishment!!

Be happy!

The webs look great when the fibers are pulled taut, but beware the tufts that develop around loose edges - they kind of kill the effect. Look near the model's feet and at the base of the right-hand wall's edge in the last photo - the fibers bunch up into loose tufts that look more like wisps of smoke or fog than cobwebs (a cool effect in its own right, but not in conjunction with the webs). Definitely an improvement, though, to an already very impressive piece.
