I decided to open a topic in P&M blogs, as my previous Khornate Sister thread (http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/383687.page) was getting too small for comfort.

NSFW stuff below, so if half-naked red-skinned warrior women bother you, please bail out.

Alternatively, you may stop reading now and just scroll down to see the Epic Land Raider of Doom and Skulls.

So, this blog will be dedicated to my third army, a mixed Renegade warband composed of World Eaters, traitor Wolves (everybody loves painting spess vaikings red!) and more, including (lookalike) Sisters (well, I supposed fluff-wise these could pass as female CSM wannabes wearing looted/replicated SoB armor... no Khorne force would be complete without valkyrie-styled warrior women, I tell you), demons, feral militia/beastmen and so on. Luckily, 6th edition allowing mixing armies opens a lot of possibilities for great themed forces made by several codicies.

This doesn't mean my Savlar army is abandoned. It's being heavily redone, though, as 6th edition has spelt doom for mechanized IG. So I need more infantry. And allies. But that is a story for another time.

Back to the Khornate guys. Currently, haven invested quite a handful of bucks and bitz into buying and trading, I'm the proud owner of ~80 marines (a mix of CSM, Berzerkers, vanilla marines, Space Wolves, Forge World stuff and more), 9 Rhinos, a Land Raider, 11 Chaos Knights (which will be heavily converted into riding horse-shaped Juggernaut-like beasties, to work as Thunderwolf cavalry), some heroes and a huge hoard of Fantasy Chaos bitz. I think it is a good start for an army, though on second thought, investing in Terminators and Drop Pods may have been wiser.
I'll be using Space Wolves codex for them for now, before new CSM are out. For the allies, I think of taking count-as Blood Angles - a couple assault squads (Chaos Sisters with wings ), the obligatory Sanguinary Priests (Berzerker Chirurgeons), and I'll yet look what nice stuff they have at HQ (shame Mephiston is a psyker... though I do have mercenary Sorcerers as Rune Priests, so I guess some non-Khornate guest star may work for him).

Modelling-wise, I stick to the idea of giving my army a Fantasy Chaos feel, as pure 40k CSM always appeared too boring to me - I especially hate those huge heads. Thus, say hello to an extensive use of Fantasy warrior and marauder heads. And furs. And chains. And chainmail. And low-tech stuff. The Bloodquest comic was a good source of inspiration, explaining that Daemonworlds are essentially medieval.

Here is a bit of fluff on the leaders of my humble warband, Lord Anglachen and the renegade Wolf Guard, Ljotolf the Kinslayer. And a certain well-known mascot girl.
http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/455655.page

Now, on to pictures!

First, the promised big red titties (NSFW, obviously). Will be used for a banner.

(c)Fleatrollus, drawn on request.

I think I'll change the motto, though.

And the photos.

Lord Anglachen, WIP...

...and his trophy handler slavergirl.

Ljotolf the Kinslayer, WIP:

The original Sister of Khorne, PIP:

And a photo of her unpainted (pretty old):

And now... the new stuff, the good stuff. The Epic Land Raider of Doom and Skulls. Unpainted.

I think that's enough eye candy for now. Will post pics of rank and file CSM soon. Hope you like what I posted as much as I liked converting all that stuff.

Actually, the big skull is removable (for transporting and measuring LoS). Also, all guns are not glued in, so lascannons/heavy bolters may be fit in when it goes as Chaos Land Raider.

While the LR is being painted (and it goes along well), here's a little something I kitbashed as a test female Bloodletter model. See the discussion on these ladies here: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/462102

So, a little bit of new stuff. Pardon me for a blurry photo, was in a hurry and my camera settings were messed up.

A test model for a Khavalry mount. Supposed to be used as a Thunderwolf, but can work as a Juggernaut too, for Brazen Knights if they do appear in the new codex.

Flat base colors, early PIP.

Was inspired by this...

Erm, I mean, this:

I always liked the Chaos Knight mounts, but they still looked too much like ordinary horses rather than monsters. So I went for a simple head swap with a Juggernaut, only cutting the lower jaw for a more horse-like shape (luckily, the Bloodcrushers box has 2 extra heads so it's not hard to trade the bits I need). I guess the end result looks predatory and menacingly enough.

Here's something totally different in preparation to 6th Edition's cultists.

I didn't want to make another Traitor Guard so I went for the more classic look, but instead of simply using Flagellants I picked up some Skaven and Mantic Zombie kits for a more twisted, miscreant type of mob rather than just guardsmen with horned helmets or Flagellants with a couple Chaos bits.

Many are missing heads and weapons as I am waiting for some resin goodies to arrive ^^

I also plan to mix some Redemptionists here, and, of course, the starter box cultists.

The inspiration mainly came from old Fantasy Battles version of Redemptionists, who were Khornate back then!

What do you think?

Another thread of yours that I'm going to borrow lovingly from. I knew there was a reason I've been hoarding those Skaven bits and Mantic zombies

"Orkses never lost a battle. If we win we win, if we die we die fighting so it don't count. If we runs for it we don't die neither, cos we can come back for annuver go, see!"

I dig how in a setting where giant, muscled fungus men ride Mad Max cars and use their own teeth as currency, the concept of little engineering dudes with beards was considered a step too far down the aisle of silliness.
