Toowoomba, Australia

Did this a couple weeks ago in the DCM forums... so cut and paste.

Aims for 2013 wargaming.
1: WHFB O&G- Finish my savage orc and orc hordes and 4 snotling pump wagons by end Feb for a tourney and then O&G will be the aracnarok spiders x1 or 2 and maybe some fast cav for the rest of the year just to add options for army selection.

2: WHFB New army - Haven't decided if it will be VC or Tomb Kings of HEs but I have a heap of models sitting ready to be used for all of them. The first two will be insanely quick to paint, The HEs glacial in its slowness.

3: Hordes: Trolls - Add 2 more units and 3 more beasts for variety for army selection

4: WM: Retribution - More of a painting than gaming project. I MUST finish a unit/solo/jack before buying another and then repeat

5: 40K Orks- I really must get cracking on them. Plenty of plastic infantry ready to be assembled

6: As per 2012 Keep a tally- Games played (aim 2 per week again), and to paint more models than bought . I failed this year BUT sold a hell of alot of models and after adepticon basically painted nothing for 3 months.

2025: Games Played:8/Models Bought:162/Sold:169/Painted:125
2024: Games Played:6/Models Bought:393/Sold:519/Painted: 207
2023: Games Played:0/Models Bought:287/Sold:0/Painted: 203
2020-2022: Games Played:42/Models Bought:1271/Sold:631/Painted:442
2016-19: Games Played:369/Models Bought:772/Sold:378/ Painted:268
2012-15: Games Played:412/Models Bought: 1163/Sold:730/Painted:436

Way on back in the deep caves

As usual, my resolution is to paint more than I buy.
Kept sucessfully for the last 10 years.
I try to paint at least 100 figures per year. I usually exceed 100 but this year I only made it to 40, so I resolve to do better.

Man this year is gonna be rough. I have 5x rhino/RB/preds/vindi's to paint, a land raider with redeemer/crusader sponsons, 10 terminators, 10 jump packers, 20 tacticals, 10 heavy weapons, 10 special weapons, 2 Attk bikes, 2 land speeders, a thunderfire, and more to paint in various paint schemes.

On top of wanting to start a 2k necron army, that ill probably buy with my tax returns. I'm gonna have my hands full. Since I won't have as much hobby time, ill probably be playing more than painting. But I'll get there slowly and I'd rather stuff look at least decent then rush it all and have it look like crap.

1) KoW Goblins - speedpainting all 200+ models to get towards some 1800pts. -- to be done by the end of march at the latest.
2) KoW Undead - loads of skeletons to paint to finally have a solid base for the army -- to be done side by side with other projects
3) Relics IGG stuff - get at least the Nuem and Orcnar stuff all painted - by end of March
4) Sedition Wars -- get at least a base game set painted to TT standard - by summer
5) Get a decent crew/army painted up for both Malifaux and Infinity - whenever I feel like it (and manage to decide on what to pick!)
6) get some assorted smaller stuff painted up - during the whole year
7) Finally get back to work on PH 1KSons army, rebase, paint to decent standard, play lots of games
8) Finish Necron army --- just a couple of immortals, a few wraiths, a flyer or two and some crypteks/lords to go. should be done by summer

...And whatever else I come up with doing during the year
(I *know* I have a decent bunch of KoW elves lying around I just don't see myself getting to before 2014, but the Celestian army incoming from KS should be done by end of summer! - at least enough for 1800 or so points, not all of it )

Buy less (preferably nothing for a while), and paint my gak.

I've still got about 1000pts of Tyranids to finish. I've got a 3500pt Vampire Count army looking for some paint now. I've got a bunch of Haqqislam figs to paint. I've got the Chaos from Dark Vengeance to paint. I've got a Salamander army I want to strip and redo completely. I've got terrain to make for my board.

I really don't need to buy anything for a long, long time. I just need to get on my ass and paint my gak.

Paint/Finish the rest of the space marines that i have unpainted, consisting of:

2 Stormtalons
1 Razorback
10 Tactical Terminators (Might or might not paint the extra 3 or 4 guys laying around)
2 Thunderhammer, 3 Lightning Claw Terminators
10 Assault Marines
1 Jump Chaplain
7 Tactical Marines
Librarian
2 Drop Pods (need to be finished/painted better)
Marneus Calgar (his legs / base are done so far) and my Finecast Honorguard.
2 AoBR Dreads, and maybe 2 old metal dreads (One is Bjorn from like, 8 years ago, and 1 is the old eagle venerable)

MAYBE my 25th Anniversary marine, and maybe the 1 scout i have that isn't part of my 10man squad. (got ousted for Telion. poor guy)

Maybe my Vanguard Veterans, depends if Assault Marines become any good if there's a 6th Ed book.

Now that I wrote all that down, it seems like a lot of work. I might finish one of those. Maybe. All Resolutions get broken though, so, meh.

Wow some huge projects on the cards for some!!

Think those saying they plan to paint thousands of points should think of breaking down a timeline, it a tank or squad per week.

Worth it to get your guys painted.

1. Get two gaming tables finished (Jungle and Desert canyon).

2. Play in a fantasy Tourney with my High Elves.

3. Downsize my SM army. I don't NEED a company of marines. 4-5 squads total should be enough.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).

For my Necrons:

1: Finish the 3 Nightscythes I have.
2: Get 20 Gauss Immortals.
3: Get 10 Deathmarks.
4: Convert 2 WHFB Cairn Wraiths to Crypteks for the Deathmarks.
5: Strip and repaint 60 2nd ed Warriors and 10 2nd ed Immortals to match my new models.
6: Use my tax refund to buy a Battlefoam bag for my Necron army.

6 will probably happen before 5 does.

Tried and failed. I don't like giving my hobby time deadlines. I basically try the method of 'paint something every day', whether it's just a few layers of paint on a big model at night before bed or managing to bash out a full model on a lazy Saturday.

Actually get around to painting my Warmachine models. So far I've gotten all of the basic colors on a single 'jack and bits and pieces of color on others. I haven't even touched my smaller-based models yet. Considering that I finish my degree this year and I've decided to switch careers into a field that doesn't eat literally every free hour of my time, I expect that I should actually be able to manage my resolution. Fingers crossed anyway.

4. assemble and paint my Imperial guard.

5. Rest.

I'm with you on this one. I hate deadlines, so I just paint even the smallest bit when I feel like it. Which is probably why I have close to 3k left to paint of my army haha.

3.) Actually play the game...I own like 1500 points of Chaos but i have yet to actually play a game after like 2 years.

This year, everything is dependent on the work situation, if I can get that resolved my priority will be to build up to a 2k point DW army with an equal sized RW army being a second priority and GW third. Now I just wait until the job situation clears up and just plan when I see how much the new dex will change my current list.

Well, I have several projects this year:

1. Finishing Necrons by March.

2. Finishing DE by September.

3. Building a CSM detachment and selling the rest at ebay. Similar for Chaos Daemons and Dark Angels.

4. Waiting for the new Eldar codex (possibly at the end of 2013).
