Hey all here is my terrible first attempt at a how-to-painting tutorial thingo...
things I already need to fix in future
- More detail shots (not so important for tabletop quality)
- A light box for better pics
Anyway here is my attempt to paint a tabletop quality Archangel and Typhon from the Legion of Everblight range
1. Both minis are assembled fully, undercoated black and then basecoated purple (army painter purple spray)
2. Airbrushed a basecoat of Vallejo Model Air Pale Blue. Focusing on raised areas/centre of muscles/wings etc..

3. Airbushed again iwth Vallejo Game Color Dead White (little bit of water added) again focusing on the centre areas of muscles/wings. The whole model got a very light zenithal spray as well.

4. Basecoated the carapace/chitin with Vallejo Game Colour Dark Fleshtone. This was quick and messy, didn't bother getting a flat colour as it won't matter later on.

5. Carapace/chitin drybrushed with
GW Khemri Brown, wanted to contrast the warm basecoat with a cold highlight.

6. Drybrushed carapace/chitin with
GW Rakarth Flesh

7. Base is drybrushed with
GW khemri brown then Rakarth Flesh. Base rimmed with
PP Black. The large stone perch for the archangel is recoated black then drybrushed with
GW Dawnstone and then Administratum Grey. Then army painter swamp tufts were added to the base. Tamiya red was then applied to the mouth/claws using blisterpack foam.

8. I wasn't happy with the contrast on the carapace/chitin so I gave it a wash agrax earthshade (still wet in the pics hence the sheen)

so in total it took me one Man of Steel soundtrack listen through to finish these two (around 110 minutes or just under 2
hrs) which included a break for cleaning the airbrush after I did the white. Also I know Typhon is on the wrong base, he's for
DnD so square base works easier
If people want anything specific tutorialised (that's a word right?

) let me know, I just figured I'd show the process I use for painting models like that.
Also I suck at taking pics I know
