Why does GW think that people will buy 1 base of Rippers for $16? They are nowhere near as efficient as Scarab Swarms, and even those only fetch $5 or so on ebay.

I was saving my tournament winnings for some necron new stuff, guess Ill grab that TFex when it comes out

Surfing the Tervigon Wave...on a baby.

It's the old 2nd edition Rippers.

Probably because some sly dog has been making a regular point to buy the metal versions of those that appear on ebay for cheap.

Some cool stuff there but not at those prices to be honest... Besides I envision my tervis differently, cool bits for convos though.

Actually, I like the third monster from that box best, the non-Codex Tyranid with the WD rules, something like the Tyrannofex with close combat weapons:

There is a good chance, I think, that that is just the 3rd shooting option, like the "hive" options for carnifexes. The openings for the hive are in the chitinous plates on its back - this could be the same thing, just in the forearms.

Good that they dropped the crotch gun as seen on the Tyrannofex art. Having such a huge body and then only holding a gun is a bit of a let down for me. I would have preferred a bigger gun carried on the back. Good thing I finished an alternative model with exactly that just in time. Need more perspectives though for a final judgment. Maybe I will make a conversion with the gun moved to the back.

Thankfully it seems like a fairly convenient conversion to put the Rupture Cannon on the back carapace. And yes, I also think that it`ll look much better that way...

Oh wow.... I might have to pick up tyranids..... Hive tyrant in plastic, plus tervigons, plus boneswords and lashwhips....

Also, the list of releases says that the tyrant is also a swarmlord, so that gives us plenty of extra boneswords/sabers/ Cool.

I have a feeling they'll keep the resin swarmlord. He's still a good model, and I doubt they've made back the money on him

What is that? It like a tyrannofex but has arms instead of a weapon. The arms may have something weapon-like but doesn't look like any of the main weapons of a t-fex. Below, it says in italian to the effect of 'turn to page 39 to learn everything about the weapon of this model'

Is this the WD tyranid unit that was rumored?

Maybe the Tyranofex but with a different weapon option? I know it has 3 options for its main gun.

There's already clear pics of the rupture cannon and acid spray. It is probably the fleshborer hive, but I expected it to look more like a giant fleshborer (like the pic in the codex looks like a fleshborer hive to me) and not some limbs with ports on the shins/forearms. With the note below the pic I thought perhaps they stated something new for the t-fex or added a new t-fex like unit. Wishful thinking I know.

If you squint at the picture in a very dark room and use your imagination, the front arms look a smidge Malefactor-y. But it appears the ship has sailed on the Cerebore/new bug rumor. Oh well.

The picture says 'Tirannofex' next to it in the picture's description on the left, so I wouldn't read to much into it. It's probably just the fleshborer hive or something.

That's a good call. Would make it more of a mini-Exocrine like the rules suggest.

Those look more like an Assault 20 weapon than anything else...wall of dart throwers style!

I really would hope that a T-Fex sized CC variant would be the *last* thing that GW would come up with to give 'Nids a boost. I'm not a huge fan of the transport bug concept and even that seems more useful than a lumbering CC monstrosity with a target painted allll over it.

that last pic looks pretty much like the cover art for the tervigon. im just glad we get a nice plastic tyrant, plus a winged version and swords/whips combos. although im am slightly miffed i purchased a bunch of arachnorok spider torsos off ebay for conversion use and no i have no purpose for them... why couldnt these pics and news be in solidity here like last month?

I'm so, so, so, so, so fething glad I waited on getting a Tervigon and Tyrannofex instead of converting up fat Carnifexes with wang cannons or using the chapterhouse kit. Those look absolutely amazing.

I love the mini Heirophant look they gave the Tyrannofex as well - sort of connects the FW and GW lines a little.

I'll be curious if in fact there are WD rules for a new weapon upgrade for the Tfex. These look like scanned pages...I wonder if this WD has the rules for it? Anyone who owns it care to enlighten us?

A while indeed. Oh and yes, I fought long and hard for the Tyrannofex to get named Exocrine. Obviously that battle was lost...

Tervigon looks great, Tyrannofex looks a bit awkward with that 1 giant gun. That Winged Hive Tyrant also offers possibilities for a good Harpy conversion.

Couldn't give a damn about more Space Marines stuff.

From a gameplay POV - looks like the Tervigon/T-fex will be too big to get cover saves from mid-sized critters like they can today (if you did the usual Carnifex conversion). Which actually is a huge bummer. Missile spam 2.0 - now without cover saves!

I'm not sure if it's been talked about before, but does this dispell the (admittedly stupid) rumors that Chapterhouse was the reason why we weren't seeing an official Tervigon model?

There's no evidence either way. It could be that GW delayed it because of their incompetent lawyer and then decided to release it anyways once they realized there was no sensible thing holding them back anyways.

True, but their size might allow them to better hide Venomthropes.

Anyone know what size base the tervigon/tyrannofex is on? Don't know why but get the feeling it is bigger than the dread base. Might be wrong though

Judging by the photos, they're on the large oval base (same as Dreadknight and Stormraven, for example).
