I wasn't thinking they would change them, perhaps just include them, I know for a while the rules for flyers were not available.

ITs obvious they would have to include them in the dex. Not eeryone can get a DftS now, so for availability, they need to put them in the codex.

I am very happy about the supposed changes to Vanguards, might use my Assault marines as them for a few games.

I honestly don't care so much about the look of the Centurions.
Some people think they look good, some think they look bad.
All I see is conversion potential

Same deal with the Heldrake I find. While some people do not mind it so much, other's detest it strongly, and some go one step further and use their dislike of the model to come out with some truly unique and personalised conversions.

I just ordered the DFTS incase... I agree though they will have to include the flyers in the SM Codex. I need the rules now for two builds I am trying to complete.

Any idea when the pre-order will come available for Codex SM?

Looking at terminator legs, I honestly think taking some of the armor from these, making your own plasticard will save them.

I say this as a basement dweller who knows nothing about art, yet somehow I know I have better taste than a team of professional designers. I will also comment on the paint job even though I can't even bring myself to paint my necrons/grey knights/latest power army. I haven't bought any GW models in twenty years, this just confirms I made the right decision to fund (insert any lame kickstarter here)."

I am a professional graphic designer and art instructor. I have a degree in Visual Communication and a minor in Art History and I don't live in a basement. Winterdyne also commented on how bad they look and he's one of the people who I consider as the greatest miniature painters I'm aware of. And we both think it's bad.

But hey, I'm not director or TV producer or scriptwriter. Does that mean I can't criticize Honey Booboo for being a bad show? Does that mean I can't criticize Twilight because I don't write novels? Does that mean only those who make footwear can say things like "crocs are really ugly"? That's the stupidest thing I have ever heard: you can only criticize something if you have expertise on it.

I don't have to be a chef to know when a dish tastes bad.

I am glad the Vanguard Vets are getting some love. I just hope the rules are better; early signs say yes. They are my favorite of the 2 vet squads too. Heroic Intervention just sounds cool.

Oh my god are the Centurions AWFUL!

I won't repeat the comments above, but holy jesus why?

Lets hope they look better in person

However, really happy about the Vanguard and Sternguard, I'll be picking up a few of those for use with my Crimson Fists, but will be using the bits on Forgeworld Mk IV's

Vanguard costing a reasonable amount?

Oh heck yeah!

Now let's have Shrike make them troops so I can field 6 squads of those bad boys.

Seriously, Vanguard Vets have one of the coolest concepts and rule sets, but they were so expensive they were basically useless. Now they should be reasonable enough to use consistently.

I think the new models look excellent. Very happy I decided to wait, and didn't have to wait long, to start up a new SM detachment.

The shoulder plates ..too large and bulky

The chest way to boxy

The triple crotch guard and side apron armor, is way to much over kill of armor for the midsection, and what makes it look so clumsy and stiff.

And the legs with the minimal clearance in articulation for the armor sections, again lead to a tree trunk immobile feel.

And underslung heavy weapon powerfists..guess Calgar will have people to hangout with now and look cohesive with.

But on the plus side Cosplayers will find it much easier to build these legs , cardboard box robots return!

oh well, the other stuff looks decent enough.

I'm forced to admit, the centurions look much better in those pics.

Chaplain and Libby, wow!

Captain is okay, but I really don't like the helmet.

Is it me or is that Captain a reworking of the AOBR Captain?

Pose looks very similar.

Digging the Librarian big time.

Centurions are only 70% awful now. Need to see more.

I love the new ranged Centurion pictures.

Hopefully their rules are decent, I'll buy 6 to go with my contemptor mortis.

And that new Chaplain and Captain are amazing too. I might buy the Captain to just take his helmet for my own wargeared captain.

I might even buy the new Vanguard just for the Relic Blade...

And, depending on if there are plentiful combi-weapons in the box, i might buy those, as well.

Emprah help my wallet.

I'm much more impressed with the shooty Centurions. It wasn't the paint job spoiling the others, just the drills.

The Captain looks to be just a rework of Sicarius from the last starter set. Nice, but nothing revolutionary by this point.

The Chaplain I suspect would look better from a different angle... But I do really like the Librarian.

I really do wish GW would give us a plastic Captain/Libby in Termie armor like CSM. The finecast ones are starting to show their age.

I originally read that as Chappy/Libby.

I nearly screamed Heresy before I read that. No man may gak talk the termi chappie and live.

It's Stormtalon, Storm Raven, Stormtalon in the background. It's a bit fuzzy, but it's definately a flying potato/goldfish/brick.

Just another storm talon.

Anyone else have the idea to use a land speeder tempest from FW as a stand in for a stormtalon with skyhammer missiles?

It will be interesting to see some sprues on the dakka ones, also some rules. Are they twinlinked or multishot, things of that nature. Still I am happy with how they look. If they have missile launchers in the chest then it will really help with my anti tank needs. That, combined with the sternguard points drop and less of a need for combi weapons will help round out my army more.

People who stopped buying GW but wont stop bitching about it are the vegans of warhammer
