Thanks Akira, for me fluff/function and story are all vital to my hobby experiance, I really dont care anymore for optimum builds or othersuch nonsense, I just build my armies in my own way ( adding formations and such ), unfortunatly it leads to having entirely to many models sometimes .
At last count I was pushing around 12,000 to 13,000 pts of Tau and thats before adding my kroot and auxilleries.....I gotta cut down......nah!
Its my therapy I guess.
And again thanks for the high praise.

@HAZZER : yup Apoc games only, something to scare the stompas with.
@sluggaslugga : small huh? I guess the next one will have to be 1:1 scale...I think there is a M1a2 around base to use....
@Flinty : Yup rules for it are in the link in my sig, although I am re-thinking some of them, will wait for some playtesting ops.

Orks....?
Not certain if you mean for me to make Ork Aux, or are asking if those would be a good idea..?
If the former, the main enemy of my Sept/Tau is the Orks , so not very likely
And for other Tau, well the Blood axes are sometimes mercs, but not as Aux, Orks don't take orders from little blue dudes...it ain't propa!

Wow, really love the paintjobs and conversions, especially the extra heavy broadsides.
I just had a question regarding the xv9's, how many did you actually buy? Or did the Shas'o R'alai ones come with more then 1 of the pulse guns? (I'm not sure if I want to get a squad of pulse submunition rifles or the phased ion guns, but not looking forward to having to buy twice as many models just to get 2 pulse rifles for all of em.)

Just saw this thread for the first time today, and all I can say is WOW! Your converting and scratch-building skills are top notch, but I love your painting skills the best of all. Camo can be hard to do properly, but your camo is amazing.

@Sheep : Appreciate the compliments , yeah I have gone for a more RL world tau scheme, since I am RL military I could not bring myself to paint them in bright colors
I plan on doing maybe 2 more super heavies in different configs, but this one was alot of work, I may take a break and work on The Orks for a bit.
Again thanks for the input.

Good news. This is the best time in the hobby. Full of promise. GW lets us down each time and we know it but secretly we're hoping that this is the edition that GW gives us a balanced game that can also be played competitively at tournaments. I'm loving it.

I vary my camo pattern for each vehicle type, just keep a simular palette of colors, the main inspiration for the Mont'ka's camo pattern was WW2 german "blowing leaf" scheme, it seemed to work well on such a large vehicle.
You should give the Cookie dough pattern a test run, and see if it sings, Tau realy take well to a good camo pattern, and seeing as how delicate they are , blending in is always a plus.
Now I need to field test this baby, kill me some stompas this weekend ....
Appreciate the input as always.
