I used Necrons at AlamoGT last year (and should note I was the ONLY one there with that army and lost out on free beer to a Tau player). A few months back, David Light was telling me Jay Roy still gets teased one in a while for losing to me.

In retrospect, I should have thrown that game. I played Dash in the 2nd round and crazyredpraetorian in the 3rd and got tabled in 2 turns in each game.

I took Grey Knights to Wargamescon last year and I'll be using Grey Knights again this year.

I haven't finished "rebuilding" my Necrons as my prior army was invalidated by the new codex. I actually ended up selling it all.

150 ork boys are so meta breaking it is both awesome and shouldn't, although it probably is, be all that surprising.

Tons of dark eldar, and IG, way more DE than I ever expected.

I heard no complaints of slow playing or games not finishing. Then again I spent my weekend on all the high number tables because I did terribly!!!

Sadly I was not in attendance. Between the ATC and NOVA I wasn't able to make it to Wargamescon. Spent the day on the couch after having my washer fall on me (yea that sucked) and watched the last few games on ustream and saw the posts by Tasteytaste.

Oh and Allan had 2 Warbosses from what I remember. Whatver the case, 150 Boyz are a nightmare for every Meta army. Even the Hyper Aggressive DCA I've been playing at 2k would have a hard.time and that's not including the Nob Bikers.

Ben used his Necrons to win the tournament I went to last weekend. Not wraithwing as far as I know.

As far as I saw it only had 6 Wraiths.

He had (from my guess):
Anrykar in CCB
Overlord in CCB
Royal Courts
3 Immortal Squads in Scythes
Warriors in Ark
2 squads of Scarabs?
6 Wraiths
2 units of 3 Spiders

Sounds about right. The real problem with the current tournament scene, and thank god 6th is here in 6 days, is that the meta is so marine centric that a player can take something like 150 , which is good period, and prepare to dominate based upon everyone else prepping to fight marines.

Ork armies do very well in multi-objective missions do to the fact that they are a kill point denial army.

What a great tournament, BOLS did a splendid job.

Alan is an excellent ork horde player, good to see them do well and to see Chicago represent. Of course they're overpowered, it's only six points per boy

What were the results for the team event anyone know?

They didn't post them Friday when me and my partner had to leave.

However, team Next Level Painting's score was counted incorrectly in the second round (and they jumped from 32 battlepoints to 51).

Come to think of it, I wish I had played an easy 3rd round opponent (with 20ish points instead of 34). Would have meant we wouldn't have faced some Hades Drill whatever-the-hell bull ! I will say we still beat them 15-0 despite having no idea what their units did (and never being shown actual rules).

I think there were 27 tables, so 54 teams in total, although I could be mistaken.

OH and 2 things:

1) Dust Warfare looks really, really awesome. For the price point, it's looking really difficult to avoid giving the starter set a go.
2) Privateer Press hooked me as they were giving out a free started set for Warmachine / Hordes for anyone who did their free demo. As someone who hasn't played Warmachine or Hordes, I'm really stoked about getting into the system. From what I saw, it looks like something I'll have a blast playing.

That Hades drill team was me, and y'all never asked to see the rules, I had offered to show the book.

Had we gone first, that game would have ended differently.
Considering I had like 10hours of sleep the three days before we did decently.

The top two tables opponents we would have smashed after I saw there list.

I wouldn't make such a bold claim. There were far better players than either of our teams on the tables surrounding us.

I came in 5th, 3 of the top 5 were necron players. (Take that Grey Knights)

Did Ben know that you cant use Anrykar special rule if you are embarked in a Command Barge? It doesnt really matter as he and Allan both dominated the field.

I'm interested in seeing the team results as well, team adonis had 2 massacres and an 8/7 minor victory.

Understandable, you guys were swamped! On the whole, the event went very well and I was impressed by your ability to keep everything relatively on time. I don't remember any rounds being pushed back more than 15 minutes.

I will say the extra space between tables was fantastic. I really appreciated not feeling cramped. It's the little things.

Just got back from WargamesCon.

As usual it was a blast. The new hotel was fantastic.

Really great event, every year I can go I will!

The hotel was great and I was able to finish all of my games, will definitely be there next year.
