No where near as good as the pieces on offer here, The Baron's conversions revolve around the idea of "stick as much as you can together from what you've got". Due to my cheapness because of limited budgets at present I like to use as much as what's provided to make something sexy... Plus I know half of the left over stuff will never get used, so why not slam a few things together and see what happens?

Case 1: The Spiderfex. I wasn't a fan of the legs and had some talons left over so decided to make something pointy. And find as many of the spiky carapaces to make it look evil.

I'm not sure if these look more like breasts or testicles. I wasn't planning on it being either but they just hang there.

Case 2: Daemon Prince. Not exactly the greatest example of Citadel engineering. I just cut up all the heads, stuck the horns onto one head and had the others looking like they were coming out of his leg. As you do.

Don't worry, I'll have a "proper" conversion soon.

Proper? Those faces coming out look amazing... extra daemonic.

Are those daemonic faces your own gs sculpt or crafted on from other models in a seamless fashion? Either way they are some serious conversion work and easily comparable to the rest of the models on here.

As for the spiderfex, i'm not normally a fan of the "all scythes all the time" fex conversion, but i'm somehow reminded of epic scale titans when i see that, the resulting nostalgia carrying over into genuine appreciation. More please!

Now The Baron is about to quote many people should!

Reanimator wrote:Are those daemonic faces your own gs sculpt or crafted on from other models in a seamless fashion? Either way they are some serious conversion work and easily comparable to the rest of the models on here.

They were the other heads available for the Prince, they each had various horns which I assimilated and added to the head I chosen. If you see the various "combinations" they've displayed on their site, Games Workshop have used once each. I've decided to use all at the same time.

What got me thinking about it was how previous versions felt lop-sided. Here are my previous efforts:

I wanted to do something different which looked bloody mean.

[AAAHAHA fething. The Baron is amused by this editing.]

The Baron will occasionally. But I won't do it all the time.

Porbably one of the milder conversions here (I still class myself as amateur ) but I'm quite happy with it. Traitor mutated IG:

And dieing IG (nvm the painting, done ages ago):

We are amused by the killa kan scratch build, since it is so orky, like the daemon prince's many faces (maybe the man of 1000 faces?) and like the traitor guard conversion, but especially the dying guardsman, right and properly looking like a dying hero.

Hi,

Simple plastic spares conversion (no green stuff). My goal is to make my daemons as scary, intimidating and disturbing as you read about in the Horus Heresy novels. Still some things to finish but I am happy so far, also good experiment with gloss and washes.

Now, dont get me wrong - that chaos demon is very scary and well painted/converted, but also doesn't the face make you think of an evil undead orang-o-tang. Of course this fits very nicely with the insanity I expect from a demon.

Cheers Flinty. It has an eldar grav plate, taken from a support weapons platform on the bottom of it. I was trying to make it look like it was hovering behind the Mek. But a wheel could be good.

Many of these are more of a custom paint job than a conversion which I did a few years ago for fun. But I intend to go back and improve them, making them most sexy.

And so we switch to painting Super Heroes (or Skaven, for us without a sense of humour) to keep us interested. : D
