I like it alot, for your pathfinders, did you do a wash of black ink over a regular fire warrior paint job?

No ink. The darker area is the basecoat. Here's a slightly better pic of the Shas'ui.

Nice stuff. The Dogfish is cute. All-around fantastic work.

Fantastic and characterful army. I really like the feel you captured with the Kroot. The whole army has a great look about them. Thanks for posting the pics.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.

Great paint jobs and tons of cool conversions. I really like the mix of bitz, like the eldar arm converted on the tau (that's my favorite).

awesome stuff, the color selection is top notch, definately screams Tau...

nice thought/execution on the horizon-effect for the water-caste...

can we see more pics of the vespids, those look awesome (much better execution than the GW ones)

and maybe a shot of the whole army?

Definatly a cool army. I really like what you did with the devil fish picture on the left. What did you use to make all the bullet chains?

This army got a lot of chrackterful models I like it very much. Stealth Suits are outstanding while the Kroot do not seem to fit well.

Like them?? I don't like them...

....I love them!! Any chance for bigger pics though?? They really deserve some.

It is possibly the best looking TAU army overall I have seen, and I have seen a few really gorgeus ones. What makes your's tops is the way you'w fleshed out the army with the allies and made their different schemes perfectly complimentary to the whole look. Well done sir!!

Thanks to everyone for all the nice comments, they are much appreciated!

Envy89: It's a very slight conversion to the Thunderfox Mechwarrior model:

http://www.wizkidsgames.com/mechwarrior/figuregallery.asp?unitid=6477

The only conversion is a flamer bit, kroot rifle and a skimmer antennae.

Couple more shots:

Dainty Twerp:

I'm sorry, I don't have alot of pics on these guys yet. Here are the ones that I have right now, and I'll post more as I take them.

Thanks for the compliment on Aun'shi. I always imagined that if Aun'Shi would be out searching for O'Shovah with a small expiditionary force, he'd want to keep a low profile. I disguised him as a water-caste. Those guys appear a bit taller, so I had to lengthen the robes and give him a small anti-grav unit as 'stilts'. You can see the unit peeking out from his robes. He has a partner, but he was removed after some consideration.

The little guy's name is Gray. I'm writing some fluff on him:

Part II has a bit about the Kroot and Aun'Karra.

DarkRaptor: The ammo belt on the DF (and one of the suits) is from a 12" G.I. Joe bandoleer.

Jayden63 I clicked on your sig and took a look at your models. Very nice army pics. Our skimmers are really not that far apart scheme-wise. Nice!

Thanks again for all comments. Bigger, better pics coming once I finally finish this cadre.

hummm would that be tourny legal?? i dont think that it is 50% GW stuff.... but honestly, what judge would deny such a cool mini.

My first mini, lol. Take your time, THIN YOUR PAINTS, and keep at it!
PM me with some pics sometime. They're probably not as bad as you think....

Platuan4th: Thats a deployed decoy, glad you like it. It's made from a little toy F-16 fighter jet I found at a pharmacy. Clipped the wings off, added a couple carbine bits and 2 antannae. Pharmacy toy sections have TONS of cheap, usable bits.

Completely awesome army. I am thoroughly impressed.

Can we get another couple of shots of the crisis suit firing the missiles in the back. That looks super-sweet.
I also really like the idea of painting the little square on the chest of each suit as a gem, may be stealing that.

Second kroot picture, far right kroot; am I the only one who saw it and thought "kroot facepalm"?

Great work

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.
