I think the tape will show when you paint it. Have
tried working with sheet plastic or foamcore?

You gotta start somewhere right? Scratch is about being intuitive, and that you've done. Advanced techniques will come with practice.

Foamcore would be a better medium to use over cardboard. However, with it being cardboard, I would suggest overcoating it with something so that the cardboard will have some stability.
I think the model looks pretty good. the multiple orks popping out of doors is quite nice actually.
well done. for a first time scratch build, I am impressed.

I highly suggest making the jump to foamcore for a large project like this in the future. It'll give you the ability to make something just as large but with much more stability in the material. Cardboard has never been a good source of modeling material for me (past the corrigation from the inside for metal sheeting ^_-!).

i first started with corrogated card. Its awful stuff to use, i recommend regular card, you can layer it for extra thickness.
Add more panels on this one
Well done though, you've taken your first step into a lager world
edit... that was supposed to say larger but being i use beer crates for my scratches I think i'll leave it

If you cut up a cereal box into small panels you can lay them in a way to make it look like armor plates. use super glue over and under the cardboard or it will warp. then add rivots as needed (ALOT OF RIVOTS)!

That's my solution to any ork-scratch build. When in doubt, add more plates and rivets!
