OK, this time no politics.

I recently found a German armored car I thought was sufficiently over the top to be an Imperial staff car/armored limo.

My idea was the weapons would be mostly hidden and would pop out when needed. It would count as a Chimera so that determined my weapon picks. I've not made much progress since I stopped to work on my Chaos rhinos but I did a bit.

ARRGH! Ultra-side-scrollbar of DOOM! Apart from that, it looks like it's going to be pretty good. Good luck.

Looks pretty sweet. Good eye finding that! There are a few flat bare spots that could use some details like eagle emblems and such.

Look forward to seeing more!

Looks pretty good. Since it's a staff car, that's an excuse to take the imperial theme to a whole new level. Aquila hubcaps, eagle headlights, the whole works. Make it the 40K equivalent of a pimp-mobile!

As I said in the last thread, it needs either bigger wheels or double ones to improve the looks.

I like the idea, the base model is very god for the purpose. The hatch looks a bit big though, way too wide and a bit too long as well.

Have you considered adding some armor plates to the sides? The vehicle is a bit skinny for 40k at the moment, though that might be just me.

Are you going to build a little turret or something at the front, to hold the hvy bolter?

I'm very interested in seeing how you go from here.

Hmm. I can see what you mean but at the moment I don't have any good substitutes. Bike wheels are too short, I'll keep my eyes open for a cheap toy to pull apart.

Part of the goal here is to imagine a 40k street legal civilian vehicle. So the top hatch will have the heavy bolter and multilas popping out.

Skulls and eagles and such are a given. Not sure about stowage though, the kit comes with boxes and tools I can attach but then it looks less like a limo and more like an APC.

YO DAKKA DAKKA!

A limo basically is an APC. If armour wasn't a factor we could just fire celebrities from cannons in the general direction of their premieres.

Ammo boxes from GW kits would help it mesh, but probably stay away from the ones that came with the kit.

What car did you end up going with? As someone else looking to use 1/48 cars, I am always on the lookout for something new. (although I plan to use them to complete my guard TO&E, and serve as street decor for cityfight)
