Iron Hands are often led by a Master of the Forge so that they can include up to six Dreads filling Elite and HS slots.
Add three troops and you have a playable army.

I would say that Space Marines are powerful. However, I will not call them cheap until I have seen the next 2-3 codexes. The Marines could just be the start of a trend.

Wow yes, they are cheap, really cheap, I mean you just have to look at the increase of points they got to see how cheap they are "rolls eye's"
I happen to think the current Marine codex is the best released so far and the points cost are very well balanced.
Your entitled to your opinions, i just happn to disagree with your last couple of threads

what about the Combat Tactics??? your post doesn't explain anything or why.
1. You need to pay for the unique charactors just to be able to use a different combat tactic than default one you get, this seems reasonable to me as certain unique charactors obviously have special abilities that they can pass onto the army or select squads.
2. The Chaplains and Librarians have been toned down somewhat so that they are more support role to the Chapter Captains and Chapter Masters. (which although I find annoying I also agree with)
3. Even the old Trait system can be found within the new marine dex, not as powerful as it used to be but works. Field a Master of the Forge and you can field dreads as heavy, etc.
So far, you haven't supplied anything to explain why you think they are overpriced, just stated they are with really ... really short replies, lol.

@ridon
If you look at the details between Legion of the damned and normal Tactical Marines you might notice some useful comparisons
1. The initial cost price of the LOTD is higher than the initial cost of Tactical Marines.
2. Each additional LOTD model is almost double that of a TM model
3. Add to that, the fact that you HAVE to play them in reserve and deploy via deep strike (when most units with this ability have the option of starting normally on the battlefield along with the rest of the army)
4. And the fact it takes up an elite slot and not a Troop slot because they are gloryfied marines

Good spot, I missed that one. They may be able to shoot as if they they were staionary allowing them to fire heavy/rapid weapons and still assualt, but they also move using "Slow and Purposeful". Both an advantage and disadvantage
And yes, that is a scary avatar
