When I first found out about Battle Foam, I instantly recognized it as an innovative and useful product and I knew that I would most certainly be purchasing some of their foam in order to consolidate more of my miniatures into my existing cases.

I also figured that if I was so excited about their products, then surely many other hobbyists would be as well. So it was a pleasant surprise to me when I was contacted by Battle Foam and asked if I'd be interested in running a promotion for the Dakka community to help name their brand new carrying cases that are soon to be released.

Clearly I believe the company and the product to both be top notch and I am more than happy to do my part to help the Dakka community participate in this great contest. So without further ado, I present their contest:

Battle Foam's Name Our Bags Contest!

Hello Dakka fans. As some of you may have heard, we are a new custom foam company serving the hobby community (www.battlefoam.com). We offer custom cut foam trays for any line of miniatures or hobbies.

On March 1st of this year we will be launching our new line of bags and carrying cases that will literally change the way you store your minis. These bags are ruggedly constructed and offer superior strength, durability, craftsmanship and most of all, customization. They both feature our patented custom foam and will increase your carrying capacity by at least 40%. They're perfect for both long distance trips and quick games at your local store.

These two new bags will become available for PRE-ORDER on our site on MARCH 1st along with full details and pictures. The official release date is April 15th, but if you pre-order you can pick up your bags at Adepticon in Chicago on April the 3rd.

(a teaser mock-up of what the bags will roughly look like)

Bag Details

Larger Bag - This bag features a revolutionary 3 part system that allows you to configure your bag in 3 different ways. Back pack straps make it easy to carry and with a capacity of 1520 troops, HUGE is an understatement.

Medium Bag - This bag features a new Battle Foam specific shell that protects your minis without being overly heavy. Multiple pockets and an easy carrying handle makes this bag great for medium to large armies. This bag will hold 432 standard troops.

We're looking to the Dakka community to help us come up with a couple of awesome names for these fantastic new cases. Any suggestion will be considered, although keep in mind that we won't be accepting anything profane or that would cause IP (intellectual property) issues with any existing game companies. Also, names that emphasize the size, shape and capabilities of the bag are definitely a big plus.

To make your entry, just post it right into this very thread. Its just that easy! You can even make as many entries as you'd like. Not a current member of Dakka? No problem, just click on the Join Us! link at the top of the page and you can become a member in just a couple easy steps.

The winners (or winner -- one person could end up naming them both) will be picked by us at Battle Foam and announced February 23 right here on Dakka, so make sure you check back to see if you're one of the lucky ones*.

So what exactly are the winner(s) getting? Well, not only will you receive a $100.00 in Custom Battle Foam Trays, but you will also receive the actual bag that you helped to name. Yes, you will receive the very first Battle Foam bag two weeks before anyone else does!

So get your thinking caps on and start posting. We're all very excited to see what you guys come up with!

*If you don't check Dakka on a regular basis, please take a moment to make sure that the email address in your dakka account is current as we will be contacting the winners via email and Dakka private message and if you don't get the email you may miss your chance to collect your prize!

WARNING: If you edit your post, your entry will count as the date/time of your most recent edit (meaning if someone posted the same thing as you 3 pages later but you edit your post after that, they'll count as having submitted the entry before you). So the moral of the story is: Don't edit your posts in this thread, just add another post later in the thread if you think of another entry!

YO DAKKA DAKKA!

I'm guessing that "Battle-Packs" is too obvious?

Larger bag:
Battle Foam Macro-Pack
Battle Foam Macro-Stack
Macro Mini-Carrier Array (okay, I'll stop saying 'Macro' now)
MOTRAY (MOdel TRansport ArraY - It's got Mo' Trays than yours!)
Infant Smuggling Backpack (sorry...)
Chapter Carrier (you could fit ten companies worth of basic marines in the big one, at least)

Not-Quite-So Large bag:
Battle Foam Micro-Pack... understatment perhaps. Just relative to 'macro'.
Company Carrier

MOTRAY Snr.
MOTRAY Jnr. ... heh heh

Will edit this post if I think of anything else I guess.
