Im thinking of starting an imperial drop troop army. Has anyone got any ideas on how i could pull off a sort of air cav look?

yep...cadian bodys, pig iron heads and hasslefree grav packs and pulse rifles give you.....(drum roll)...

I would wait a couple of months. The new IG codex is due for release in May along with the plastic valkyries. The best looking drop troop models are the Elysians from ForgeWorld. A less expensive option would be Cadian bodies, Hasslefree jet packs and Pig Iron heads.

A guy a while back used tau bodies and legs but he cut the hoofs of and added cadian boots! then elysian heads and weapons.
They are still the coolest drop troops ive seen!

Wow those models look great Im liking the pid iron heads, not a big fan of elysians. And ive actualy scratch buiolt my first valkyrie but I am eagerly awaiting the plastic ones release Its not painted very well at the moment I might redo it but what do you guys think of my valk

So, here's the original DiabloBats Elysian (found in this thread here: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/206815.page#229384.) DiabloBats' model used a mixture of FW Elysian, Tau, and Catachan parts.



Here's my own version with a Sentinel Driver head (as found in this thread: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/228458.page#536747)



And my version with a Cadian head:



My versions use Tau arms, legs, and torso, Catachan boots (well, for this one - future ones will use Cadian boots), Cadian lasrifle and either plastic Sentinel Driver or standard Cadian heads.
