Rumours abound that it's different somehow from the Forgeworld one, but how truthful those are, I dunno.

I like to think it is though!

I'm going to say "no". It looks identical to the FW model, which is unlikely in the extreme giving the moulding issues.

The cockpit windows fit flush to the fuselage, something that is impossible to pull off with the FW model.

Looks identical to the ForgeWorld one to me (and I own two) - but according to the rumour source:
- The photo caption reads " exclusive look at the brand new plastic Valkyrie, in the Codex for the 1st time"

Plus why should the GW version look different from the FW version? I didn't see them make radical changes to the Piranha and Skyray

As Mad Doc said, there were some rumors stating the GW version has some major differences. If it's the real deal, I'm all happy...

So I'm waiting when we get it.

It looks to me like the sensors above the lascannon are different, as is the nose-mounted sensor. Those aren't really major differences though.

The front of the turbines look a little different and the weapons below them are different. The turbines could just be the painting and as far as the weapons go I don't know if the FW one comes with different weapon options to account for it.

If it is the new plastic one that is pretty sweet. You could mount a little speaker in it and have it play Ride of The Valkyries as you drop your Karskin off.

Well, the Cadian one has a lascannon, the FW version has a multi-laser. Though the nose mounted details do differ somewhat..

One thing that's for sure is that it's a new photo, taken atop the landing pad terrain they made. I think it's great.

the air intake on the "plastic one" has pipes running over the top, FW one hasnt, other than that its the only difference i can see.

That is without a doubt the forgeworld one. The pipes over the air intakes are actually the pipes on the other engine. The cockpit on the front is not fitted, just like the Forgeworld one. In addition, the landing pad has been used in other photo's can't remember where, I think there were Space Marines on it.

Doesn't Kevan Downey paint stuff for FW exclusively? The first picture looks like a WD shot (in that it looks like your grandmothers television with the contrast turned up).

Apparently, it's from WD 350(March Issue), with the Caption accompanying the picture stating that it's the new Plastic Valkyrie.

Wouldn't be too much of a surprise considering the absolutely no difference between the Forge World Sky Ray and Piranha compared to the GW versions.

I can't tell the difference, but having seen the Baneblade and the new Stompa, I have no problem believing the plastic Valk would look that good.

OK, so my eyes aren't playing tricks - I think either the plastic kit is an exact copy, or GW just painted another FW one for the picture.

There are noticable differences between the resin and plastic Piranha, curves in the bodywork are different. Can't remember exactly, but they do has noticable differences when placed alongside.

Both *are* slightly different though, although you wouldn't know it from the stock pics as the box and web pictures of them are *both* of the FW versions.

Look at how different the Baneblade came out.
