Am I really the first to do this?
Anyway, so I glued around a lot today and this is what came out of it. I was considering doing something with the head, but I wasn't sure if I could pull it off, so I just used the normal one. Nothing much so say besides that. I should probably add some sort of gunner....

The only problem with it that I see is the fact that it isn't nearly as big as the FW one, otherwise good conversion.

alas, not the 1st nor the last :(
1st one i saw using a basic steggy (metal) was back in golden daemon 99
then the plastic one 2 days after the release.
still, great idea, and the plastic one looks alot more squiggoth like, only suggestions would be:
1: squiggoths generally have the horns on thier lower jaw area and nose, rather than side of the head.
2: a little more support on the howdah and its a good'n
Edit: Spelling.

hmm....I'm not going to redo the horns. It's plastic glue. No way am I going to pull those pieces apart again. I wouldn't know how to add horns in the jaw area anyway.
Some more support might be a good idea though...

its fine as it is, was just a random thing lol.
i may have to make one at some point, the jaw attatched horns wont be much problem, use super glue to get them at the right angle, then build up more bone / skin with GS.

lol, its not a big job, just simply a wad of GS, then smooth it into shape over the horn and make it look like its part of the jaw, them for some realism, add some scales
Edit: spelling again.

Well, I'd have done the howdah differently, but i want to thank you for proving a point I made when the Stegadon was on prerelease.... this thing WILL make a GREAT Squiggoth (Note: NOT Gargantuan Squiggoth) with very little extra work, besides adding the Howdah.

There is more than one kind of squiggoth, the FW one is the gargantuan squiggoth, IIRC

Kewl, I actually think the new Stegadon looks better as a squigoth than a stegadon. The old stegadon model should never have been changed imo.
And considering squigoths are from the same spore as orks/gretchins/squigs etc. It's perfectly viable that there are large ones and smaller ones. Rulewise you'll have to make some changes however.

I know you said you wouldn't but I'd still rip off the horns and reposition them.
As it stands now it looks like a stegadon, not a squiggoth. Needs some work on the beast to make it look less stegadon-like.

Also ork glyph / shield on the support beams will help.

I was contempateing doing the exact same thing and with the zzap gun too, do those post's really go up that high off it's back b/c it doesn't look like it in the lizardmen pictures, if so i'm defiantely not doing it because I can't stand that bit, if those supports were lower it would be great but they're just way to freakin' high, not saying it's you it might just be the kit, but if that is how the kit works, definately not doing it.

If you ever consider making feral orks, the old codex does allow for 4 different squiggoth sizes, the smallest being less that 6 inches with 3 wounds.
That is, if your opponent agrees to let you use it...

such a great list
got my print out from ages ago
squig herds, boar boyz, squiggoths, what more could an ork player want?
those orks could actually hit something with shooting too!
kind of ironic since they have only just found shootas lol

Yeah, I remember reading that and the kult of speed list and wondering why anyone would take a normal ork army. This was before the new codex of course, but the list is still really good.
And that Stegadon would make a seriously awesome Feral Ork Squiggoth.

I don't like it as a squiggoth, much too small, but I love it as a counts-as looted wagon or trukk.
I reckon a SnakeBites Kult of Speed (with orks riding Cold Ones counting as bikes, etc) would be very cool
