The Imperium of Man is able to traverse the Warp with difficulty when their Emperor concentrates from his golden life support machine and lights the way. Unfortunately, because the Emperor has the attention span of the average 5-year-old Pokemon fanboy, this means that many an unfortunate Imperial ship has had the WTF WHERE'D THE LIGHTS GO experience, which in the Warp is invariably fatal. |

Well I'm thinking that it would give the Vulcan mega bolter a greater range of motion so it does not have to turn and face its enemies to fire (it should be allowable as the forgeworld macharius comes with this option and is a lot smaller. That siad (by the way i do like this conversion) you will have two problems.
1) Finding someone to allow you to use the conversion as it will change the way you can use the model quite drastically,
2) the task (that even forgeworld forgoed) and convert/explain, where does the ammo go?
Otherwise a great conversion, keep the pics coming and may i add the the warhound titan's vulcan had ammo bins on either side, could be an idea

Any specific reason for tilting the VMB upward at that angle?

1) VMB moved to free some space inside the tank.
out of the box model seems fine for doom/banehammer transport-capacity. But too small for 40/20 models.
2) weapon used as anti-infantry / light vehicle (maybe fast moving), so to pivot all the time isn't an option.
the usual way to use the "atrtillery" tanks would be fine with the weapon mount of this plastic kit.
but a VMB needs to be hold on target, even if this moves. So obvious solve = turret.
3) Changing the stormlord to:
-lower deck: machinery + fuel
-main deck: passengers + battle platform
-upper deck: main weapon.
Thus enabling me to spent more space for the passengers and SHV may transport non-infantry as well, so i may need a ramp.
4) with at least 3 scratchbuilt SHV ( self created datasheet too), i doubt it is news to me to need consent to use it.
5) VMB has the same movement as the baneblade cannon as it is.
The chassis is still in the creative process.

I would be more pleased if you could see the guns better from more angles than directly in front ... I would almost thing it would look better with the VMB flipped upside down or(if that top armor comes off) removing the top armor. It just looks kind of off from any angle but directly underneath(and im assuming straight down the barrels).
It's a great idea and other than the covered barrels it looks great and sounds like a good idea.

Yeah, like i said you do have a great idea. As a veteran VDR man i know from experience that you do need consent to use a VDR or altered vehicles and since i was unaware of your past experience, just thought i'd give ya the heads. Don't shoot your allies with your enimies
Keep up the great work

Played around with some ideas and come up with:
1) enlarge width of the tank.
2) add a ramp either on the front or rear.
3) decide about 2 possible gun positions.
So option A is:
Main gun on a higher structure, but still possible to move under it through, front ramp for non-infantry passengers.
Design similar to a landing craft. Enough space for 4 dreads.
Option B is:
Main gun in front at usual level, stretch the length a bit, higher structure after turret as 2nd level platform.Rear ramp for passengers.
Using 2 levels, design more like a "castle", enough space for 4 dreads ( 2x2).
C&C welcome. Please vote

I'd have to agree with Humble Techpriest, although you may well need something to shelter the passengers from the bullet casings that gun spews out.

yep
Actual chassis holds about 40 guardsmen / 4 dreads, so size should be right now.
2 boarding tests, only 1 successful:

I think option A would look best, but I chose option B for practicality's sake. The last thing I would want to do is leave that vehicle in FRONT of that gun shooting...

Plunging fire could be one reason...
Plus, firing at range would require a slight upwards title.

Its still an IG vehicle. Could be a comissar at the gun controls to help you to enjoy youre duty.
Its looks like a 50/50 vote now.
Hoped for a clear decision, I'll have to concentrate on the "shared" parts then.
So keep voting and help me to get a course of action.
