Alright, my first tank is mostly painted, but this being my first of all time,I am stuck. How do I high light this thing?

It's all black for the purpose of stealth. On top of that I want to know if people like this theme or had advice to make it better.

Well, what do you think, what would you change, what would you do?

Hmm if you want it black you should highlight it with Codex Gray like i did for some of the details to stand out.

Another option that works nice is to highlight it with Shadow Gray, ive done that on my Sisters of Battle and it looks great.

Thats all the advice i have for you.

If you really want to do it a flat stealth color, it'll end up looking like you just primed it and left it there.

You might want to try doing something like people do with their stealth teams, where it looks like it's 'warping' the colors around it onto its hull?

Or maybe just use a darker grey or a grey/black mix to do camo jags on top of it?
The original Street Fighter movie had a pretty cool camo'd "stealth" boat, see if you can find some pics of that.

If I knew, I'd tell you.

That is just plain lazy..... put some grey camo spots on it and some dark green pots on it.....

Otherwise it is pretty much just primed..

I used a black base for all my Tau stuff and a mountain/urban camo scheme. I used a light drybrush of Shadow grey over appropriate areas to pick out some of the detail.

I dunno, I like the Black on Black color scheme. I would paint up some gun metal on the, well, guns though. If you pull the highlights off well, it could look really swank.

Just so people know the tank is not just primed it is painted black with selected panels glossed. I agree that I need to highlight this thing carefully or it will be ruined. I do like the idea of putting some boltgun metal,or something metal,on the guns. I do think that I will put some white sept marking on it,but I'm not sure. I may,if highlighting well fails, throw some camo on it. Any tips on highlighting techniques for black tanks? thanks

Just edge it with codex gray. A thin gray line on every visible straight edge/crack in the armor and it'll look awesome.

I would recommend using the foundation paint dark grey color over codex grey, unless you like a bit more extreme highlighting (I do, but I think most people don't)

Actually, Ph34r makes a good point.
Try using Charadon Granite as a way to paint camo jags over the black.

It's a dark blackish-olive drab color, that looks pretty nice when it dries.
