Ive just finished painting the new plastic valkerie kit.

What can I say! Its amazing, simple and quick to put together and a deam to paint.

Here are the pics. Feel free to ask and questions you want about the kit or painting.

Clean and crisp, although simpel.

Personally, I wouldn't want to use the transfer stuff, since it really shows that it's a transfer (the clear foil stuff is clearly visible on the picture), so why not paint it yourself?

Additionally, the model is kind of boring. There's such a huge space, so much green armourplates, but not even a camo-scheme.

Try adding camo plus probably some noseart

I don't want to be human! I want to see gamma rays! I want to hear X-rays! And I want to - I want to smell dark matter! Do you see the absurdity of what I am? I can't even express these things properly because I have to conceptualize complex ideas in this stupid limiting spoken language! But I know I want to reach out with something other than these prehensile paws! And feel the wind of a supernova flowing over me! And I can know much more! I can experience so much more. But I'm trapped in this absurd body!

The transfers worse because of the flash!

I like them simple rather than OTT if you look at the rest of my guard on my blog you will see how it fits in. I wanted a real world look

I know you like to freehand every available space - but its not my style sorry!

I like it. It is admittedly a somewhat low detail model in many places. It has a lot of large flat areas that it seems GW normally would have coated in rivets.

Nice clean job. One comment, though, is that I would consider taking the weathering you've done to the engines and extending it onto the twin tail booms. They are crazy close to the jet exhaust to remain unscathed

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

I agree, if you look at the top down version you can just make out some "sooting" on the rear wing.

I might add more to the inside of the booms!

Thanks

Very clean, very nice, very cool. Having never painted a model that size or standard, i can only praise.

Looks good as a model, but I think it would look incongrueous on a table: it needs to look more used: dirty engines, chipped paint, bullet holes. It looks good, but its like you pulled the image out of the spring/summer Adeptus Mechanicus catalog.

But it's brand new! Maybe once it's seen some action and been shot at by some Orks... and actually been hit by some Tau, then it might get a bit more battered...

True... it's just come out and hasn't seen action yet, so it would be looking clean

And it looks like there's a bit of wear from the (exhausts?) on the wingtips and such, it's just subtle

Very nice work, and you're right about not going OTT. It can be tempting with all of the stuff that is, but this looks perfect for what you're going for imho

For transfers, I recommend Micro-Set and Micro-Sol, specialist products designed to give better decal adhesion and to reduce the silvering effect we're seeing in the pictures. Micro-Sol also does a pretty good job for laying decals on uneven surfaces like riveted panels or across seams. They're pretty cheap, for only a few bucks per bottle, and will last you for years.

The supply does not get to make the demands.

Yep sure does, but i can't squeeze the extra 10pts into my list as its a bit tank heavy now - Im sure you will understand that

Thnaks to everyone for their comments.

I might add some scratches and bullet marks as my tanks have them....... but im not sure.

I will play my first game with it tonight so I will see how well it does!

Love this kit, even without the lascannons for the Vendetta version.

I think it works just fine without battledamage.
Not everything in the 41st millenium has seen battle and must be broken in some way or the other.

Its refreshing to see something "new" with nothing but a bit of dirt on it. Keep it the way it is. Its good stuff!

Thanks again for the comments!

I played with it tonight and it looked great on the table with a whole army with it.

The good news is I won! A Valk dropping a stormtrooper squad next to a marine sqaud = one dead marine squad.

They then packed back up into the valk and zoomed over to contest an objective!
