Why is there a guy with a bow?

You have decent enough base colors, and for table top quality they are ok, but you really ought to start working on other techniques, like dry brushing, highlighting, and washing. They are both great, and fairly easy, techniques to learn and use, and they make your finished models look worlds better.

What exactly is the concept? I am really not sure what your are going for here, so I dont know if you ought to continue.

Elnicko5:
If you read the picture descriptions it is an example of my earlier work. Next, their fatigues are washed the faces are dry-brushed and I find that highlighting (in my opinion) is great for my SM and CSM but I have an army based on the fact that they are disposable infantry so the low ranking troops will not have fancy armor.

I dont what it is , but i dont like how the flamers are

The colours are OK , but the way it is suppused too look ( like the flames went out of all the holes ) dont suit my eyes

And you can wash them with dirty colours like Ogre Flesh , or Gryphone Sepia ...

I see a keyboard but no screen?

And was that 11 500 pts worth of stuff or 11 500 models?

Cause what you have shown is nowhere near that kind of limit.

Do you basecoat your models? I just ask because your tanks don't seem to have any spray paint on them and your colours seem quite light.

I've painted a lot of Orks lately and I find that spray painting them black as a basecoat works very well for all the bits that would be black eg boots, belts, guns.

Just a tip.

Hi

I like the colours as a police force - and the tanks fit in well.

My suggestion would be to get some dip - this will allow you to quickly add some depth to the guys. Also shades the eyes etc and would make the whole force look better. If you did this after basing with some sand, would also look OK from that standpoint too.

Adding an undercoat, particularly to the tanks could add some more depth and ensure that they handle better.

Give them some squad numbers or something and I agree that they need eyes, even a bit of brown over the eyes would be better than nothing. Another thing that makes a big difference is painting spots on the ends of the barrels to show that there's a hole there. Either a spot of black paint or use a black marker pen.

Thanks Everyone!

Mccartney: I Prime white, basecoat codex grey, paint fortress grey, and wash black. The tanks I don't basecoat, but maybe I need to thanks.

Tallmantim: Thanks in the same respect as mccartney with the base coat, but could you send a link to a site that sells dip?

I would go with a darker blue my self, the grey fatigues are fine but the armor just doesn't do it for me.

Hi Citadel

See this thread - shows some results of dipping and gives some details and links.

http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/209745.page

And another:

And a lot of information in this thread:

http://warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=27857

You can either buy a premade purpose built dip or use floor polish/stain.

Cheers

Tell me, on your basilisk, is that green-stuff? If yes, you should definitely try to mix it together properly.

If not, what is it? Green, blue and yellow playdoh?

I don't want to be human! I want to see gamma rays! I want to hear X-rays! And I want to - I want to smell dark matter! Do you see the absurdity of what I am? I can't even express these things properly because I have to conceptualize complex ideas in this stupid limiting spoken language! But I know I want to reach out with something other than these prehensile paws! And feel the wind of a supernova flowing over me! And I can know much more! I can experience so much more. But I'm trapped in this absurd body!

Iagree that the models need eyes. big time. And the armour looks too... plastic. You should try painting the armour black or a darker grey, then drybrushing white over it, followed by another drybrush of your final layer. This will add some depth to the armour and make it look a little more real. It'll also help pick out more details and is easier than drybrushing highlights onto your topcoat. I use this for my own army. Their colour scheme being black fatigues with white camo splashes and codex grey armour to match the terrain on their homeworld.

I'd also advise maybe outlining the camo stripes on your tanks with a darker color, to kind of separate them from the base color, or to just paint them one colour for the armour plating.

As for the eyes, it's very simple. If you can paint the chest eagle on the guardsmen, you should be able to do eyes. I find that painting a single white dot over each eye, then adding a small dab of black in the middle (or as close to it as you can get) works great. If you're still not convinced, then consider this: I've been doing eyes on my and my buddies minis for about 2 years now. The first time I tried, it took me only 2 or 3 attempts to get it right. I've rarely fethed one up since then.

Otherwise, good theme. I'd also vouch for the fatigues being more of a blue color - the white doesn't make me think 5-0. But overall, an interesting theme.

oh man, I was scared for a second when I saw that stuff, but if you peel it off after painting, excellent!

So, after having the first shock out of the way, I gotta say: Great work, keep it up, it's not easy to paint large armys like guard.

(So many models would drive me insane, kudos for that! )

Ok my loyal followers, thanks to a friend at my FLGS a campaign is taking place in 2-3 weeks so I need at least 3,000pts for this Vogan based campaign. On top of the 2 Russes, Basilisk, and troops I need one more Russ maybe a hellhound and 3-4 H.W. teams. My list will try to mix a meat shield with heavy fire from the subsequent lines. A Shadowsword will make it's first official appearance on the fields. ( And just for fun I'll bring out a centuries old scratch-built Warhound! barring Some major repairs!)
